He's recruiting a number of major California stars, including 4* QB from Inglewood High School, Justyn Martin. He's already gotten one player to de-commit from the California Golden Bears and headed to Ole Miss.

Funny...if you haven't seen it already (I'm just now seeing this, sorry), his tweet about his arrival here in Los Angeles has gone viral. I'm sure my friendly folks over at USC couldn't help but take a skant eye toward this. His tweet was just a picture, but that's all that was necessary! LINK

You know...Ole Miss could very well become a force to be reckoned with in the future. Seriously. Kiffin is a great recruiter and he relates well to Southern California athletes.

He won't stay at Ole Miss.

He’s hilarious. He knows he’s trolling but I bet OM fans see the airport and this and shite a few bricks.

Well, you never know. Ole Miss is a fine school with very nice people. Finebaum thinks he's a fit to go back to USC. I can tell you right now...that ain't gonna happen. Not after what happened to him here at USC.

I think Kiffin's grown up and matured quite a bit since those days; but, he still has that "little kid" inside him that just loves to cause trouble. I like him for that, though....I like Kiffin a lot. But, USC people are not into that kind of thing and the memories are still way too fresh, I think.

Na, he's just getting another CA QB to run out offense.

Why shouldn't he recruit in USC's territory? They don't.

It'll be no problem at all.

USC takes its players to the desert in the summer many times for its practices (heat up to 120 sometimes).

USC has played AT Auburn and Arkansas the first weeks of September in very hot, humid conditions....USC won handily both times. A long time ago, USC beat Alabama in Birmingham early in the season, too.

Ole Miss, despite being down more than up over the last decade, is still one of the best tv draws in the country. Lane plus Ole Miss is a great mesh of brands. We comin’, baws.

This. If you want proof, look no further than right here on this board. We don’t even play tomorrow and the SECr can’t help themselves from discussing OM / Kiffin on a bye week.

LSU having a hard-on for OM’s coach is pretty fantastic

If OM will upgrade facilities, I think he will. Seems like a good fit.

Some of y’all act like it’s still 1995 when it comes to coaching jobs. When the SEC adds Texas and Oklahoma, all the other leagues are going to suck. So that basically makes only SEC teams our competitors to keep him. When they increase the tv deal money, and also add even more on top of that by ESPN taking over the CBS game, there will be virtually no difference in Ole Miss’ ability to pay lane vs another sec school.

If lane stays at Ole Miss, he can get paid top dollar to win 10 games and he will be the best coach we’ve ever had. He will run the program with 0 interference from boosters or the AD. If he goes to a “bigger” program he won’t have near the freedom from boosters and he’ll have to win more to keep people happy.

He’s staying and the SECr is having a really hard time coming to terms with it.
