Bryant's ways is one of the major reasons they have a rule book now. You can't punish a coach for breaking rules that aren't written yet. But the last time Bama had any success was Stallings and it ended with Bama getting busting trying to buy players. Right before Saban they were caught buying Julio and Ingram. The list is too long to name all that has came out since Saban arrived. It's only a matter of time before someone smart enough forces the NCAA's hand on letting Saban slide and it ends the same way.
Oh so you want to talk about Albert Means, umm can you bring up something from the last 20 years besides that. I mean that is pretty damn old. Oh and he never played a snap for Alabama. So looks like we really got screwed on that big pay day.

That's bullshite. The penalties associated with Stallings were when Antonio Langham signed a napkin for an agent in the celebratory aftermath of the national title game vs Miami.
Funny you should mention that time frame, though, because it was about that time that Pat Dye's staff was caught paying players at Auburn. Then later, as noted in another post, Terry Bowden told a reporter that while he was coaching, boosters were still paying players. Cam Newton says hi.

I'm not sure kiffin would do that. My sources did tell me kiffin was on the phone with Tom Elrod for quite a while this afternoon though. I doubt there was anything to it.

I'm pretty confident that everyone but Army, Navy, Air Force and BYU cheat to an extent. I included BYU because I think you have to be Mormon to play there.
ETA: Don't actually have to be Mormon to play at BYU, but most of them are.

Kiffin probably doesn't want to be the next Bruce Pearl.

There's a difference. Somebody driven, by their ego, to be the best there ever was can't cheat, otherwise they will never be known as the best there ever was because he/she cheated to do it.
I would imagine your boss is driven by greed, not ego.

Lane will drop a few bombs, you just don't know when. I think he will do it to see what kind of a response he will get from Saban.

Did he do any of that after leaving Tennessee? USC?

It's eventually gonna happen either way. Kiffin has enough money to not be bought but I want Saban to screw up and do something that gets his butt in trouble (after Emmert of course). Kiffin can't do anything right now unless he can tie Emmert up in it and get him fired first.
I swear this sounds like something straight out of ATPB

Dumbass. Saban recruited them. It wasn't before Saban's tenure.
