Fulmer had some talent at Tennessee during his final years. He always recruited solidly. The problem was he became complacent after 1998 and slowly began to stop coaching.

This is all anyone needs to know about Fulmers time here

I'm 21, and some of my friends think Kiffin was going to take UT to new levels. I'm one of the few people my age that didn't like Kiffin when he was here.

I am 21 and I wasn't real fond of him when he was here. Sure I wasn't going to go out and bash him for running his mouth bc he was our coach and it was his first year, what was I gonna say at the time our programs coach needed support until performance proved otherwise (See: Dooley, Derek). But I def did not like him very much

"Everything he touches turns to gold". Take away his last 2 yrs at USC and check out his record, including the Raiders. As goofy as Al Davis was, he repeatedly called Kiffin a liar. And that has held up everywhere he's been, too.

What you fail to see is depth. You are mentioning these same players over and over. Obviously there were a solid group of 6-10 guys. But the rest of the roster was GOD AWFUL. UGA 1-85 was far more talented than Tennessee, Maybe 1-10 Tennessee was better, but football takes about 55 guys and Tennessee's last 30-40 were terrible.

What you fail to realize is that UT isn't going to sub in their whole second string at a time. There will always be great players on the field. Always.

I don't know where you got this idea where all SEC teams have all-american back ups. They don't. LSU and Bama are the only teams to have that this year . That has taken years of great recruiting. I don't understand how you believe a 7-5 team like Georgia had this amazing depth in 2009. They didn't. They may have had more players, but hardly better quality. The same can be said about every team in 2009 besides UF and Bama.

UGA has 66 players on scholarship right now and will more than likely have their way with the East. Every team has more depth than UGA, yet UGA is easily the best team in the East.

I think his dad's reputation had a lot more to do with the defensive recruits that signed with UT than a coach who had an overall losing career record at the time. That & Coach O, and the whole SEC knows why/how he is so successful. Most charismatic? The whole country was laffing at him & calling him a baffoon, whether his actions were intentional as he claims or not. And don't forget the class way he left UT, sneaking out in the middle of the night with not a word to his players. As well, go back to the yrs when R.Bush was getting all those extra benefits at USC: guess which two current coaches were on that staff. Kiffen & Coach O.

Neither Kiffin nor O had anything to do with Bush's family taking illegal benefits from an agent with no connection to SC.

Kiffin at SC is under the ever watching eye of Pat Haden. The program will win the right way, or not at all.

I was skeptical after his tenure at UT, and he wasn't my first choice to take the reins at USC, but he's done a good job so far.

Ridiculous. Kiffin is a lying cheater who can't coach.

You guys need someone like Dooley if you really want to succeed. In fact, you should hire him right now.

Now he's claiming "this is the only job I would have left for". In his nationwide press conference he said "this is PROBABLY ONE OF the only jobS I would have left Tennessee for.

I felt he slighted the entire SEC and I can't think of a lower form of scum than Lane Kiffen.

I don't know what other college jobs he would have left for. I know he does want to coach in the NFL again, though.

This is obvious. The entire SEC acted like a scorned woman as a result. Some got over it, and recognize that he left to pursue a dream job with a very short window of opportunity.

Then there's this guy...

Good God,

Apparently you haven't been reading the practice reports. Bowles played in the AA bowl game and came into camp in shape. He weighs about 205 to 210 and is all muscle. Catches everything thrown his way. And yes Peterman before he got hurt was pushing Worley for the backup quarterback job this spring..

Bowles may be solid, but Da'Rick is an elite, elite talent.

Being the almost backup =/= Heath Shuler comparisons

Because usually there is no hyperbole or overreacting in fall camp reports.
