I just wish if they were going to do this that they would have put dark in charge for the whole bowl prep

've loved Lane Kiffin from day 1, but the last 2 games have been some of the ugliest called offensive games I can ever remember of the Saban era.

I don't know what the hell he was doing.

Kiffin unquestionably did a fantastic job overall for the three seasons at Alabama but, yeah, the past two games though have certainly been oddly called and probably the worst of his tenure.

This decision makes it seem as though Saban feels the problem is Kiffin's divided attention.

Hell I still have my money on Bama. I'm simply laughing at the attempt at spinning this like it actually is a good thing.

It isn't a good thing, but the other option wasn't good either.

It is a huge wild card. Hopefully it doesn't blow up in our faces, but honestly there isn't much chance it could be worse than what we saw on Saturday. That offense had no idea, no rhythm, no flow, no nothing. It was an utter disaster.

Saban made a painful situation as painless as possible. No doubt. It's still not a good thing. Huge distraction going into such a big game.

this will be proclaimed a genius move by Saban if Bama wins. lol

And if they lose, the media might actually question him for the first time in the last 6 years.

Pretty obvious he wouldn't survive Saturday.

Surely you can understand how those of us from the outside looking in view this

Y'all touted him as this offensive mastermind since day 1 and suddenly and underwhelming CFP offensively called game means firing him a week out from the NC is a good thing

That's fine, but you don't watch Alabama football like the rest of us do. Earlier in the season our offense was better than it is now. Kiffin has suddenly tried to force Hurts to become a read-option QB, and that's it. Earlier in the year Hurts would scramble to gain yardage and it worked wonderfully, and would only have some designed runs when the call was right.

Last night Hurts had 14 option plays and ran the ball 19 times. Insane. Kiffin has completely turned away from Hurts actually trying to be a QB because he saw that he struggled making some throws and was good at running. But now that he's focused on that, he has ruined a large part of our offense.

I didn't say it was a bad decision. I'm saying it's not ideal and a distraction. Which is the case with any firing. But the timing for this one in particular is about as bad as it could get.

The media proclaimed the dynasty dead just 27 games ago. Alabama hasn't lost since.
