He was asked to leave on Sunday because he made threats to Keith and Boyce. These were just to take players and coaches but still a threat. That was our cause that we were waiting on so that we didn't have to pay him a buyout. I don't think we let him go due to his personal issues. I don't think that would have come out in a meeting.

But to answer your denial on us making him leave... how do you think he went from "I'm staying to coach the playoffs" and basically daring us to fire him and having to pay his buyout to us hiring his replacement before he is out of the building and him leaving without mentioning his buyout?

He resigned like all coaches do when they take a new job, you fricking tard

We finally got him to sign something.

He wanted to coach the playoffs and was refusing to make a move by holding his buyout over our head. Suddenly, he's gone on Sunday. Where is your logic?

He also told his staff they had to come with him immediately or they won’t have a spot, but his OC is coaching Ole Miss through the playoffs. Weird, right?

So, where’s yours? Literally everything you’re posting is illogical ranting nonsense.

Because we made him go

...without paying a buyout.

Why did he suddenly not want to coach in the playoffs anymore?

Totally. After he told them he was taking the LSU job.

LSU will foot the bill for the $4 mil owed after his resignation. SOP for hires.

Because Ole Miss told him they weren’t going to let him

He was under contract and hadn't resigned and was determined to coach the playoffs. We had no way to not let him without paying him a buyout. So, how did all of that change suddenly?

He had informed them he was taking the LSU job after the season. Per any decent contract, Ole Miss was well within their rights to keep him from coaching the team any further at that point.

You are very naive. Stop believing everything the Ole Miss local media, who got just about everything in the coaching search wrong, has said.

This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Why would Ole Miss do this and ruin any shot they may have had at a national title?

You’ll have to ask their AD. He made the call to not allow Kiffin to continue coaching through the playoffs once Kiffin informed him of his decision to take the LSU position.

Seems like such an ultra insider would know that.

You're retarded to even think this was possible. No SEC team would allow this. None. Not a single one.

The answers are in this thread. Take off the piss colored glasses and read for once. Several posters of high repute are confirming this story.

Except for Florida, who’s doing it with Sumrall, right?

Ole Miss threw a hissy fit and told Lane he couldn’t coach. He resigned and came to LSU.

This really isn’t complicated.

These are big boys, making big decisions with millions of dollars on the line. This is not how it works. Again, take off the piss colored glasses.
