Okay, maybe I'm just unaware of an arrest or problem or whatever.

But can anyone explain to me why La'el Collins still hasn't been drafted given that a few analysts had him going in the first round?

It's just confusing to me. And no I'm not concern trolling or whatever, I'm legitimately baffled.

I don't understand either. Seems the risk would be worth it at this point.

He's not been cleared in the death of the girl who is possibly an ex GF. I suppose the teams don't want to take the risk of the investigation turning against him.

Probably the worst luck/timing ever for a draft pick

He'd be an absolute steal at this point. But word is he'll probably just go to the draft next year

No kidding. I thought I remembered hearing something about that, but seems like a stupid reason to tank his stock unless he's an actual suspect which I don't think is the case.

Whoever drafts him will get oodles of value.

He killed all chance of him being drafted by saying he wouldnt sign. If he isnt he cant enter 2016 and has to sign as a FA if he wants to play.

Can he wait for the dust to settle then enter the supplemental draft?

What sucks is he was totally good enough to be drafted last year, but he was one of the very few LSU players who stayed for his senior year. Les wanted to make an example out of him, but I guess it won't happen now.

Is he even a suspect or person of interest at this point? If not then I really hate it for him. Guy is talented and waited his whole life for this draft. If he is a suspect ir POI then it sucks but he has to let the legal system work itself out.

Seems like there should be a way to structure a contract whereby you forfeit claim to any $ owed if you are convicted of murder but, you know, I'm not an attorney so maybe I'm just talking crazy talk.

Ted2010-According to BRPD La'el is NOT a suspect. He took and passed a polygraph test Thursday, even though it wasn't required. My question is where are the family members of the murdered female? Haven't heard anything from them concerning the matter at all.

If La'el Collins goes undrafted, he's a FA --> CANNOT go back into draft.

If he gets drafted and does not sign --> CAN re-enter in 2016.

According to reports, if he goes undrafted then he can not enter another draft due to him being a free agent. If he gets drafted and doesn't sign then he can re enter next year. So he really needs to be drafted to help himself but why would a team do it now.

As an UDFA, he would be able to sign a 2-year deal and become a true FA 2 years before anyone that gets drafted this year. That's a better deal for him than sitting out a year if he performs well in the NFL.

Or that his possible kid and baby mama were murdered. I guess how you see it depends on if you have purple and gold glasses on or not.

That is a great question. I haven't kept up with this but one would think her family would be front and center.

As far as Collins, good on him for taking the polygraph. He is not a suspect so that is good. It really sucks and I hate it for him. He might go undrafted over this. I know the NFL denied his request to go in for the supplemental draft. That seems like pure BS to me.

But, I guess I can't blame teams for being skittish about drafting him. After Ray Rice and especially Hernandez teams are probably very worried about being burned and getting a black eye.

I hope Collins is cleared totally in this case and they catch the POS that did the crime. Whatever team gets Collins at whatever point will be getting one hell of a steal. I hope Collins uses this bad time in his life to motivate himself and becomes an All-Pro player every year. I really do feel bad for the man.
