Barrett Jones will start the spring at center. No surprise there, but there you have it.

Since I was saddled as the source of "DJ to the NFL", do I get to pat myself on the back for calling this way back when?

Good

The only time I've offered insider info is when I was told Julio was coming back by an autograph dealer/friend. Apparently Julio or Julio's reps just told him that as a polite way of saying no thanks to his business

Oh the dirt that guy has on 2 Bama and 2 Auburn players though...

That'd be so fricking sick for him.

If he pulls it off, I would say that Jones > Hannah and Samuels..while at UA.

He would still have to have the NFL success to surpass those two.

So I did some Bammer math and came up with 85 with the subtractions of Love, Billingsly, and Williams and additions in the fall.

Anyone else come up with 85? It included the 3 "suspended" players too, so Bama will likely be under if 1 or 2 of them gets the boot.

Is the intentional process over early?

Process Version 6.0 is much more refined.

How many newly signed players are you counting?

In a few years all SEC teams will be under 85 every year.

It's like it started out at Internet Explorer and now it's at Google Chrome/Opera capacity.

All 26. I counted the EE with the rest of the roster, then added 26 to the number, and then subtracted 8 because I had already counted the 8 EEs. I'll go back a count again to be sure.

It's funny though, if Bowman and Carswell get the boot or Carter never steps on the field, those greyshirt commits would have been able to come in. That is unless Saban hadn't promised a scholarship to a walkon...

Didn't follow recruiting much, thought a couple of signed guys had academic questions.

I assume, but being "suspended" could mean anything under Saban.

Brandon Hill is the biggest question mark regarding grades..

What is the rational behind moving Barret inside, granted I only saw six Alabama games last year, however he was a road grader at tackle

I don't imagine that Jay Williams was still on a FB scholarship if he couldn't beat out a walk-on for playing time. I had 67 scollies not counting Love, Billingsley, Carswell or Bowman. I have 0 schollies to kickers until Griffin arrives in the fall. Foster may be on one but I am not sure. I don't think Saban would give one to a kickoff guy.

If that is correct Bama can absorb the 18 signees without losing anyone else.

He was a center in high school, and we lose Vlachos. Dude is a jack of all trades when it comes to the line though.

Cyrus Kouandjio. For as good as BJ was at LT, Cyrus was still pushing him for the job until he got injured. Moving BJ to Center does 3 things for Bama:

1) Keeps Cyrus Kouandjio off the bench
2) Puts the best 5 lineman on the field
3) Showcases BJ at his natural position for the NFL
