Why did Aggie and LSU play almost exclusively in BR until the late 80's?

No they don't, but maybe my quick look is wrong.
Looks like LSU is 5-3 all time at Kyle Field, with the stadium having opened in 1927 and the majority of the games being played in Baton Rouge between 1944 and 1986.
Edit to add:
If you go back to 1904, when it was the early field...I believe LSU is 5-5-1 all-time there.
Edit 2: I'm going to have to look at this later. I believe I'm off.

Actually 7-4-1, A&M at KF., mostly because of the 90s. But LSU hasn’t lost a game to the Aggies in 23 years and 3-0 at KF this century.

LSU was busy winning national titles in baseball during the 90's.
Everybody knows this.

What’s LSU’s record there since TAMU joined the SEC?
Let's take 1 coaching staff worth of data and extrapolate.

No argument with any of that, except you left out the fun part: The numbnuts was thrown out of school for this.

This is so cringe worthy... shaking a sword like he's a bad arse then getting pushed to the ground I mean everything a&m does is cringe worthy, but this is a bit extra

It’s unbelievable he was dumb enough to pull that sword in the first place
At least he didn’t actually stab somebody

And security went after the guy who did *not* have a sword. Presumably because SMU instigated the whole mess.

When I see him flip over, I'm amazed he managed not to stab himself.
Truly one of the most amazing moments in college football history.

What’s the story behind that gif? Why is the SMU already on his knees (har har) and the Aggie kick him?

Wait a minute... this was what SMU did that was so offensive?
I assumed it was an incident like what happened at Rice where the Aggie band was on the field or otherwise some designated time for the Aggies to be on the field.
But now I'm learning the offense was that the SMU cheerleaders dared to celebrate on Kyle Field's hallowed sacred turf because every inch of Aggieland is a memorial.
Makes a lot more sense now.
You can saw this cadet was overzealous but all of that sounds totally in line with the way Aggies are indoctrinated from day one.

After an SMU touchdown, the Mustangs' cheerleaders ran onto Kyle Field's supposedly hallowed turf. A couple of them laid down to spell out "S-M-U," much to the chagrin of a certain Aggie cadet.

As we were sitting there listening to that 12 note smu fight song being played over and over and over again we saw the guy cheerleaders going out on the field and spelling out "S", then move around and spell out the "M", and then the "U". Even at 15 I knew that the field was a memorial and that no one was supposed to be on the field. "Hey, They Can't Do That!" I saw a cadet going out to tell the cheerleaders that they can't be out there.
