No surprise when this article came out!

Paul gave the Tide another SEC Wet Kiss!

Finebaum Predicts SEC FB

Clueless Athlon has Tide above OSU at # 2.

That’s laughable seeing them do the same thing again in 2020. Insanity is doing the same stupid crap over and over expecting different results, lol.

My Point
OSU annihilated Michigan 56-27 scoring 14 points in every Quarter. Bama struggled against Michigan, behind 16-14 at the half.
Bama led 21-16 in the fourth until Mich fumbled at Bama’s 30 ending all threats. Showing zero class Saban ordered a late TD score in the final minute to end it at 35-16.

Alabama was nowhere close to OSU in talent and ability in 2019, and in 2020 they’re about as far apart as Justin Fields and Mac Jones!
What’s changed?

Athlon top 25 teams for 2020
#1 Clemson.
#2 Alabama.
#3 Ohio State.
#4 Oklahoma.
#5 Penn State.
#6 Florida.
#7 Georgia.
#8 LSU.

Athlon Top 25

Kudos to Alabama as they open with # 18 USC (maybe) then play # 7 GA a week later at home! This is their most difficult early schedule in Saban’s 14 years.

Let me know when Stephen A. Smith picks the Tide or Clemson and then I'll celebrate.

So you're pro-Harbaugh?

Very telling.

Based upon history, evidence and experience which is what most prognostications are centered upon, so would anyone who claims any professional expertise. You can bet your life Paul Finebaum hopes he's wrong and his beloved Alma mater, the University of Tennessee, shocks the world.

Is this the year the Bama no. 1 streak ends? That may be the most remarkable stat of the Saban era. Being ranked no. 1 at some point for 12 consecutive years is a record that will never be broken.

Finebaum has been sucking Bama's teet for years.....no different from the constant death and taxes. Of course I'm not sure what he will do when Saban retires. No Saban, no dirty pillow to suck from.

# Death, taxes, and Sucking Bamas teet.

Alabama beat Michigan with the second string defense for the most part.

Here's the truth which many Bama fans ignore. With a combo of early departures, recruiting failures and horrendous injuries at two key upfront defensive positions (defensive tackles and inside linebackers) we were nowhere near any sort of championship team last year. We were tremendous in spots but a lost ball in high weeds on our defensive front, kicking (a perpetual Saban fail) and then done when Tua went down.

Fixes: (1) Develop a kicking game. (2) Don't play your first team QB with close to a five TD lead against a weak opponent when you don't have a backup or anytime really. (3) Recruit better up front on defense. And avoid a lot of contact at spots short on depth in pre-season (we lost our inside linebacking corp before a single snap of regular season play last year). There is no antidote for being the NFL's favorite shopping spot for talent. You are going to lose more players early than anyone over time at Alabama.

Do you even read previous posts? I was replying to the statement comparing OSU’s victory over Michigan to Alabama’s. App St.’s win over Michigan was over 12 years ago. How does that even relate? Beating Michigan is better than losing to Minnesota.

Every dog has their day. Don't you remember the kick six? Chris Davis? Hell even Michael Jordan had an off day.

How does a being which was hatched in AREA 51 come to be an “expert” in a sport?

What separates most teams on this list is qb. Fields and Lawrence are proven commodities. Jones looked very good for the most part in his role as starter. Trask was very good, not great but very good. He has a chance to be even better now with experience. Georgia, LSU and Oklahoma have unproven qb's. What I don't understand is why Oklahoma is ranked so high ? They don't have anything remotely close to an SEC defense.

I think this list by Athlon is based on hope. As in they hope Penn St and Oklahoma are good so it doesn't look like the SEC owns college football even though everyone knows we do.

FTR, Bama will crush USC. Saban will have a resolve about him this season I believe like we've never seen before.

Didn’t USC already back out of that game?
