What part of this thread was "talking trash"?

Once your alt status was spotted, you resorted to the same exact trash talk you always do when you alt status is spotted.

Make someone sit out a series or two. This will help prevent it.

With a hurry-up, neither offense nor defense substitutes, so that sounds pretty equitable to both sides

Except the offense is the only side who can decide to substitute while the defense doesn't have that option, even when their players are in physical distress. The only option they have in that situation is to be "injured".

quote:

And if the offense can set up quickly, there’s no reason the defense can’t do the same – again, both sides have the same challenge.

Except defense by nature is reactive not planned. Offenses can (and often do) script drives, with a few conditional choices. Defense on the other hand has to react to what the offense is doing. It's kind of sucky if a defense comes out in a base set and didn't realize the offense had 4 WR's, and can't sub in their nickel or dime package for the entire drive because of that. if I'm a DC and that happens, you bet I'm going to have someone go down with an injury to prevent a mismatch not for a play, but for an entire drive.

If the offense makes a similar mistake, they can just sub in the next down.

quote:

Defenses that can’t keep up need to work on their conditioning and/or recruit more versatile players. Maybe having 350-pound, out-of-shape fat-asses is not good for the players long-term health nor good for the game. Time to get faster, lighter and stronger on defense.

It doesn't really work that way. Good recruiting teams already have those players. On offense they're matchup problems even if the other team even if they don't hurry up.

Brock Bowers could run block, pass block, line up as a FB, as a HB, as a TE or as a WR and run fast and catch passes from all of those positions.

He's not valuable just when he played hurry up for UGA. He's valuable all the time because you didn't know what UGA was going to do with him.

But the reality is that the number of guys with RB speed and quickness, WR hands and TE bodies aren't very big. The number of players who can defend against him when he's running a route, running the ball and when he's pass blocking is also a very small group of guys. The idea that teams should just "get better players" is simply not reasonable. Those players don't exist in big enough numbers for many teams to do it.

Yeah, UGA and Bama can do it most of the time, but they're regularly among the best recruiting teams in the nation.

No, troll, once YOU attacked it got nasty.

Most of my posts were in the game thread last night. We had a bunch of UT, OU, and few Bama fans talking about the game as it progressed.

Then guess what happened? Here came the shite heads known as the Dawg fan base doing what they do best, trolling.

Can't have a game thread because of scumbag trolls like you.

frick off and die, you troll piece of shite. I've wasted enough time on your worthless arse.

That or after the first two, start charging timeouts.

Coaches won't flop, so they don't get charged for actual injuries.

You make some good points - I'm going to have to think more about this. What I do know is that I sat through several miserable games in the early 2000's when OU ran the score up on us more than once with their hurry-up offense. We didn't fake injuries to slow it down and as fans we didn't whine - we just got pissed at Mack Brown for not being able to stop it.

Calling out your alt status is not an attack.
Everytime your alt status gets called out, you cry about it, try to play the victim, do the same exact trash talk, get banned, and then come back with a new name.

Be glad your team doesn't have a real injury for every injury you fake.

Douchenozzle wouldn't have a team to coach.

Seeing how offensive football in The Year of Our Lord 2024 amounts to:

A) Take advantage of NCAA's relaxed neutral zone for ineligible receivers downfield to make it impossible to trust run keys

B) Take advantage of the absurdly wide hashes on a regulation NCAA football field to stretch the defense out such that it is impossible to cover the field space at all.

C) Take advantage of the unwritten rule in college officiating where the offense gets to dictate the tempo of the game instead of the professional game's balance between the offense's needs and the official's needs to get properly set to adjudicate the game.

I don't really give a shite if defenses cheese the injury timeout rules. At this juncture the sum total of college offense is just exploitation of bad rules to the point that kids go pro and can't even play quarterback because they spent their whole career doing a handoff mesh where they read one defender for pass, handoff, or run keep...or just have the sidelines tell them where to throw before the snap.

Granted, every single school is guilty of this including Alabama's offense. It just sucks shite and is killing the sport.

Yeah, some folks with short memories need to go back and rewatch that game. That's where the whole Ole Miss faking injuries thing started, and I defy anyone to find a single example of us doing it in the first half of that game or in any game prior to that one.

Tennessee was faking injuries all over the place, and so we came out in the second half and did the same thing but over the top. It started out as a pretty obvious Kiffin troll job, and we've been doing it ever since waiting on someone to change the dang rules.

Go find anywhere Lane has been asked about it, and he has basically a canned response. Something along the lines of "It's a serious problem in college football and we need a rule to prevent it."

You make several good points.

However, until they once again start considering the offense football players, and allow you to touch them. It will continue to favor offenses.

UT received a roughing the passer penalty last night that was pure BS, but it was within the "glass QB" rules.

Like that block that called back SC's pick six. That was BS.

It's not even football now.

Herbie and Fowler were about to start fellating one another when Heupel’s name or Nico’s name or Tennessee’s defensive front were brought up. It’s almost like a circle jerk in the booth. Very unbecoming

Isn’t it also unethical to hurry up and run to the LOS and snap the ball before the defense is even lined up?
No outrage for that bush league chicken shite football
