During the post game press conference Kirby was asked about the impact of injuries and such.

He then stated that since he was asked about this issue, he would get up on his soap box and comment on going to the nine game schedule.

In essence, he explained how banged up both teams were and this was their ninth conference game. Next year the SEC CG would become a tenth game.

He also stated that he has been in contact with other SEC coaches who have same viewpoint. It is simply too much with an extra weekend where another eight losses will be added into the mix and where teams will continue to accumulate even more potential injuries. There are simply no easy games in the SEC. All the games are very physical.

Starting at the 12:00 minute mark...

From my point of view:

Sankey is apparently only looking at the money while trying to please ESPN.

Meanwhile, all of the SEC teams are being put at a further disadvantage compared to opponents from other conferences.

Based on the current CFP structure, SEC is stupid to go to 9 games.

At a minimum the SEC title game needs to be removed

He is right even though Georgia always gets the easiest conference schedule ( but but but we can’t help it if Auburn and Florida suck)

Sankey is an employee. He’s not making unilateral decisions.

Well, the good news for teams like Georgia who schedule a second power four out of conference game is that they should just cancel those games and schedule teams like Purdue and Northwestern. I’m kidding, I mean teams like Charleston Southern and Austin Peay.

Bama, Texas and Ole Miss games were on the road last year.

Opened with Clemson and neutral with FL

Seems pretty stout to me

Easiest how?

Please explain in full detail. I want to know how playing Alabama and Texas twice in back to back seasons fits into your argument.

When Sankey was on the stage during the award ceremony yesterday, I was wanting to boo and throw tomatoes at him. He has failed the teams of this conference.

Who did UGA not play that would’ve been such a difference maker….Bama twice, Ole Miss, Texass…and who’s schedule was so much harder?

I think the scholarship cap has to go up further for 9 possibly 10 conference games with the cg.....

Yep I hate watching cupcake games. Poor entertainment value. But give the structure, it makes the most sense for the schools to do it.

FSU sucks but they have talent. Bama wins vs UTEP. Same with Texas, etc.

The UGA soft schedule is just a point with no context and has been for some time. No reason to argue with someone that has nothing to backup their argument.

Snakey is an ESPN minion. Disney owns Snakey.
