You forgot to include the "experienced" part of depth. I bet most coaches disagree with you, including yours.

I don't think he much cares about what anybody else thinks.
Seriously, what major program does? You don't run a program according to what other people think. If you do it is a mistake.
He doesn't care about other people playing the world's smallest violins. He'll probably be glad to pass them out and then use it as a recruiting tool.

Wasn't it Tennessee that was handing out bags of cash in McDonald's bags?

Promises of wait your turn and you will get in the league because it’s UGA or Bama or tOSU are done.
And that is exactly what has happened, is it not?

Guys figured out they can go to a dozen different schools and get paid and get in the league.

You don’t? I get the head in sand to avoid some truths but this one is not really debatable. Pre NIL UGA was paying for guys, not expecting them to attend class and keeping on the team until the media forced him to kick them. That’s why y’all have a higher arrest rate than graduation rate.

A TON of us who were locked out or saddled with coaches who were too stupid to cheat well (or at least avoid running it through their wife’s account) have seen nothing but positives from the NIL era.
Only because you quit hiring Derrick Dooley's of the SEC. That was and is a Tennessee problem. Throwing money at bad coaching is just a stupid business practice and was the motivation for your decade-long sojourn into the wilderness.
The fact that you have to pay a high school recruit 8 million dollars to sign is another Tennessee problem that will be showing up soon as well. Not everyone in the SEC is buying 5-star QBs for 8 million. Not everyone has to. Nothing will implode in Athens that won't get everyone else who overspends like it's printed in the backyard.

Are you an English learner? Because it’s almost back of a cereal box common knowledge UGA was buying prospects. Mimms was the one in the news with UGA outbidding Pruitt and UGA using it to turn in Pruitt. But that was one of a dozen or so guys. And you can’t really with a straight face claim UGA wasn’t bending rules and breaking traditional standards to keep guys. That’s just blissful ignorance if you do.

You realize you post has nothing to do with this thread right?? And you say you're not obsessed with UGA, ok lil guy.

He's right, and there isn't a single one of us on here that doesn't absolutely hate where cfb is going.
The bluebloods might hate it, I don't. The current transfer rules and NIL are breaking the stranglehold they've had on talent.
And I think once the college football playoff gets ramped up it's going to lead to a golden age of CFB popularity.

Discussion of Kirby’s reasons for making a statement on the deteriorating state of college football is not germane to the topic in this thread? Are you sure? I feel like it is.
The new generation of coaches and more importantly ADs are adapting and embracing the changes and even wishing we could skip the baby step nonsense and do the collegiate football league. NIL and the portal are aspects of the old guard wanting rules for others but benefits for them.
NIL and the portal are a natural progression towards the goal. It will separate those willing to make football a priority from those that dabble in it. But mostly it will set standards for those that want to take the sport seriously.

Oh no, I am sure that we were buying players. It’s your comment that no one else was besides Bama that is bullshite. Hell, y’all actually got caught cheating

He is the most clueless self proclaimed genius I have ever encountered on a message board.

Whole lot of text about a team you're not obsessed with.

So is Smart now going to get the Saban treatment, where everything he says addressing the state of college-football is seen as "crying, whining and complaining" until he everything he said is proven true in the following year or so?
So, he is picking up the torch of crying, whining and complaining from the retired Saban...and is getting the "Saban Treatment"? Sounds about right.

Kirby cries just like your coaches. Just when he does it he wins national titles.

I don't know but it doesn't matter. He's playing with the rules in place and doing a pretty good job of it.
The hubris and arrogance of your ilk always amuse me. Now if you had made the same blanket statement of what everyone hates - as in everyone hates the entitlement of Bama fans - that everyone would agree with. The sheer fact that an expanded playoff field will weed out teams like yours from one and two win national championship runs fills me with joy, FU.

If that was your take away then I wasn’t clear about intent. Bama was buying and breaking rules far bigger than UGA but UGA was far more structured in doing so. But neither was alone. Almost all programs did it to one extent or another. The thing UGA was singularly doing was the keeping guys on the team and eligible whereas most schools would cut them loose.
And shockingly those old guard guys are whining, retiring, going to the NFL because their advantage is drying up. It’s the Xs and Os guys with better ADs that are thriving now.
