Oh it's quite sustainable. It's just not sustainable with a fair number of the current coaches who can't or won't adapt. Their numbers will fade away like a fart in the winds of time, and new coaches who understand and know how to properly work in the new paradigm will come to fore. Some will dominate.
It's just the way of things.
Human nature says it isn't sustainable. Bryce Young was the first million-dollar QB and he did most of it through legit big business like Dr. Pepper commercials.
Now these Collectives/Boosters are almost exclusively footing the bill. 13 million for a high school QB in a bidding war with Miami and Florida. 8 million for the same QB situation at Tennessee and this jump is in year 3 of NIL. That's what "unregulated," or as I like to phrase it, pure greed looks like.
Pay attention, cause these numbers will absolutely pale in comparison in a few more NIL years.

o anyone under 50, they don’t even remember Bryant. They do remember the 25+ years after him though,
So they remember that Alabama won a national title , UGA did not, and Alabama won more SEC titles than UGA did during that 25 year period. Nice.

It is not sustainable. Simple economics will dictate controls, regulations, contracts, and NFL style salary caps in the very near future.
I look for a governing body to replace the NCAA, and I also would not be surprised by a players' union.

Your insecurity is hilarious.
Bama was 29th nationally in winning % for 1983-2007.

Everyone understands the endgame is a super conference made of the SEC and Big 10 schools as it’s core. The biggest issue is the baby steps that are being done to make it more palatable.
We are going to end up with a commissioner, we are going to have a real playoff, we are going to see schedules from the league instead of the schools. We are going to see athletes as employees of the league with the league overseeing NIL and caps.
We are going to see a true division I football that will resemble college football as we knew it before all this started and it will be the teams still under the NCAA that don’t go to the new super league.

In relation to injuries and the portal read the thread as this was already addressed.

Not unless it comes through something like the SEC and B1G superconferences. No one is big enough to have a say.
We continue to get court decisions that favor the greed. With the 2.8 billion dollar settlement that is retro to 2016 and the new understanding of paying high school recruits for their signature, and just lately the boosters now have total freedom to decide what is a "collective" and how much money can we throw at it.

quote:Change is coming and very soon, within the next 12 months. That NIL lawsuit will hit a bunch of conferences in the wallet when they have to pony up their share of that $3 Billion settlement.
I think Kirby is going to push change as hard as he can and if cfb doesn’t change, He will quit. Which would be a pretty big blow to the people in charge of the sport bc he’s the premier coach in the game currently and he’s still young.
The game is going to get worse if it doesn’t change. Coaches don’t want to put up with this shite and I can’t blame them
P5 schools will then be forking out +$20mm/yr to athletes in revenue sharing which puts athletes under contract with their school. The current climate of the wild west with unlimited transfers and unregulated NIL is about to change.

You posted that you had a POS thought about the death of a player. Thats enough to put you in that POS bubble.

Well this is what happened to Alabama. You build a program to that top level and it starts to attract the guys who are not as much in it for the development or for the team. They want the playing time immediately and get the game tape to go to the pros ASAP. In the beginning you have some 3 or low 4 star recruits that stick it out several years learning the playbook to where they come in as juniors or seniors they know it like the back of their hand. That makes up for the pure talent they might lack. You don't get as many of those guys any longer if you are Georgia.

Folks have lots of thought all the time, good and bad. It's what they do with them that matters. Bottom line is I thought better of it and actually showed restraint which is more that 99% of the people on here do...
Quit being so sensitive and grow a pair.

When starters gets hurt, the depth plays more. Are you suddenly admitting the depth matters now? I haven’t seen you address this yet.

The far better move would have been to not post the idea of it.
