Kind of Surprising

Auburn and Tennessee are the only two schools in the SEC with a player in the NFL, NBA, and MLB hall of fame. Have to think LSU will be next, still surprisingly needing an MLB Hall of Famer.
Tennessee has 3 NFL, 1 NBA, 1 MLB, and 27 College football
Auburn has 2 NFL, 1 NBA, 1 MLB, and 14 college football
Bias aside, it's hard to say Tennessee hasn't produced the best 3 players in the big 3 sports.
Peyton Manning, Bernard King, and Todd Helton: who can beat that big 3?

Bo Jackson, Charles Barkley and Frank Thomas

That should settle that.

Bo Jackson was a great college player and overall athlete. But Peyton Manning is one of the greatest players in football history (highschool, college, and pros). They aren't close.
Outside of a heisman there is no metric that supports Bo Jackson being better than Peyton or Reggie White tbh. Bo Jacksons football success was for 4 years in college. Reggie White and Peyton Manning were top players in football for 15-20 years lol

Ok but when you factor in all three, Tennessee isn’t close.

Idk im not opposed to saying Auburns is better but its closer than people will admit
Peyton or Reggie White > Bo Jackson
Bernard King < Charles Barkley
Todd Helton = Frank Thomas (this is a lot closer than people think)

I would have to assume LSU does not have a baseball player in the hall of fame?

it's not as close as you think. Thomas was a first ballot HOFer. It took Helton 6 tries.
Thomas has a significant edge in WAR, ~150 more HRS, 300 more RBIs, and a higher career OBP, SLG, OPS, and the OPS+ isn't even close. And Thomas didn't do all of that playing at Coors Field.
Helton basically has him beat in career batting average and in the field.

There's only 3 SEC schools who do, and one of those players pre-dated the SEC. Joe Sewell of Alabama who played at Alabama from 1917-1919. Th e only other players are Frank Thomas and Todd Helton. It's the hardest HOF to make and most of the inductees never went to college

Helton has higher batting average, more hits (in fewer years) and was a lot better fielder highlighted by his 3 golden gloves compared to Thomas's zero. Helton was robbed of the MVP and possibly another by Barry Bonds steriods use. The whole argument about the Coors Field (which is dumb) is the only reason Helton wasn't in the HOF earlier. Helton also won the Dick Howser trophy in college and was a way better college player. Im biased but when you add Helton's fielding, play across college and pros, and the fact that he almost accomplished the same batting stats as Thomas in less time, its not a runaway for Thomas.

And even though Barkley was a better pro than Bernard King, King was a way more accomplished college player. King just was super injury prone in the pros and still made the HOF

here is the side by side comparison for the two. It really isn't as close as you want it to be.

And what years did Bonds rob Helton of the MVP? Helton's highest finish in MVP voting was 5th. And no, park adjusted stats are not dumb.

Very interesting considering the success we have had since the 90's. We have one coming no doubt about it.

Skenes is the only active player with any shot. No one retired from LSU is getting in. Bregman would have to play another 8-10 years and hit like he was before he got hurt this year to have any sort of argument. Nola fell off the map after a promising start to his career.

Peyton's forehead growth since college is one of the greatest things to witness and it's not close

I mean Thomas did play for longer and was the better hitter I wouldn't doubt that. But Helton being lightyears ahead of him fielding has to count for something. Also Heltons college career needs to count for something too.

I was wrong it was the year Jeff Kent won in 2000. Its well documented that Helton got screwed.

Why put a baseball team in Colorado if you are just going to nitpick the players who get drafted there? No one penalizes other players who play in weird parks. Its only Rockies players.
Either way got a ton of respect for both players since they never were accused of PEDs or any other cheating.

Belle would have been a shoe-in if not for his degenerative hip condition.
Realize he hit .281 with 23 HR and 103 RBI in his last season when he could barely run.
