Baton Rouge is still a solid city, so I don’t get why it’s described as “basically off limits.” That makes it sound like stepping outside at any hour is a survival exercise. I’ve gone to plenty of places around Baton Rouge without issue and have never felt threatened. Some of you talk about it like the entire city is Mogadishu in Black Hawk Down.

Lived in Louisiana, MS, and Alabama now. All the shits the same. BR just worse because of the size of the city. Every city in the south is pretty shitty minus a few exceptions. Everyone had there own reasons to live wherever the hell they want lol.

Nobody in their right mind lives in north Baton Rouge if they don't have to. If you avoid that area you avoid the vast majority of violent crime. Anyone who lives there or has spent a significant amount of time there knows that. It's like any other relatively large metropolitan area. It's going to have its good parts and its bad parts. I’m not arguing another second over this. I’ve lived all over the country and chose to move back to the area. I love La and I love it around here. I cannot stand Baton Rouge. It’s nothing like it used to be. Stop acting like people don’t get shot in the middle of the day in the middle of seigen. Or shot at lsu games. Remember when you could walk around tigerland and the apartments all over that place and the absolute worst that’s gonna happen was a fight? Now you disappear. Stop acting like nothing is wrong in BR. You are part of the problem. Also don’t tell me you live in St George but you claim BR as home. If you are gonna rep BR you damn well better live in BR.
