Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers have made another addition to their quarterback room ahead of the 2026 season. Middle Tennessee State transfer Kaden Martin committed to LSU on Saturday, announcing the news on social media.

LSU will be Martin's fourth school after he began his college career at Miami in 2022, where he played football and baseball. He then transferred to East Tennessee State for the 2023 season and redshirted on the baseball team. He then transferred to MTSU for the 2025 season, where he served on the football scout team as a redshirt junior.

He was ranked as the No. 1,380 overall player and No. 87 quarterback in the Rivals industry rankings when he signed with Miami. He has not played in a football game since he started his college career, and will have one season of eligibility for the Tigers.

231*

251lb sub 6 foot QB would certainly be something though

Surprised LSU decided it needed a scout team QB this late.

This truly is the best place to come to get into the minutia of LSU sports, as reported by opposing fans. I’m not sure I could keep up otherwise.

Not really a need but his dad is on staff as an analyst, so I'm sure that factored in.

Ah that makes more sense. I had no idea why LSU was adding a scout team QB who had never played before. No idea what he could be used to scout for unless y'all were playing a triple option team this season.

Probably just doing a favor for his dad, plus he can try to play baseball.

A walk on qb left team this week
You need a qb that can throw during summer, a fall camp arm and a scout team qb

He won’t play baseball because lsu is not saving him a spot on roster
