Well 84% don’t.

The flag that is the biggest candidate for replacing the current flag was Mississippi's state flag during the Civil War.

It's called recruiting.

Yeah that’s probably not a great idea either

Funny considering the thousands of black athletes that have come through that school and played for said school with nary a mention of the flag until last month
Was the flag not racist 2 months ago? How about 2 years ago? lol

Look, the state flag ordeal about changing it has been going on in recent years before all this new cries to change it. Being from Mississippi I can tell you that people in this state only hate outside people telling us what to do while other southern states still have basically the same thing.
Will the flag get changed? Yes, but unless you live or grew up here it’s hard to explain. I honestly believe the flag was getting changed regardless, maybe not as fast as outsiders wanted but it was going to get changed.
As one of the Ole Miss fans stated, don’t tell us what to do or that we get the shaft from the Ncaa when we can point out other states are not getting the business because those states make the Ncaa money.

Ah...Might want to read your article again and quote it right! Here I’ll help you...
“Among black Mississippians, 84 percent favor changing the flag.”

We were talking about black support for the flag.

I'm not a supporter of the flag, but this just reinforces the left's belief that if you bitch enough and create enough outrage mobs, you can get your way at every level of governance

Damn near everything can have "racist" ties if you look into it hard enough.

I dont Think these 2 flags constitute “everything”
Maybe they could try a new flag that doesn’t wasn’t part or wholely a confederate flags.

Pretty much any flag that a Southern state flies currently is at least somewhat associated with the Confederacy in some way.
The Civil War happened, its a part of history, why try to erase any trace of it and its permanent mark on these states and their history?

Somehow the black population of Mississippi managed to live with the flag for decades without spontaneously combusting to all its oppression. Makes you wonder...

You mean a state that is damn near 40% black has the only alleged "racist" state flag (the Wikipedia entry literally describes it as a "racist state flag")?
How can that ever happen?

Based on?
I've never really noticed any kind of widespread organization or protests against it.
Or do you just speak for all black Mississippians now?

The flag should represent the people in the state.
There are a lot of Black people in the south. Maybe they don’t want this part of history history flying over them today
