Not really surprised. After the UCLA debacle he needed to go at least 9-3 with no bad losses. He is at 5-4 with tough games against Ole Miss and LSU still left, and they just got blown out at home in consecutive games.

Sumlin quit working a long time ago, A&M finally had to come to terms with the fact.
He was never a detailed, hands on hard working guy, but the day they gave him the $30m guaranteed deal it sealed the fate they are experiencing today.. mediocrity & in large part to a lazy arse coaching staff.

Exactly. That contract was amateur hour leadership on display. Which is why A&M will always underperform & stay in sleep mode. The leadership is incompetent & the cycle repeats when you have their cultish mentality.
No one from the inside has a clue or pedigree.. no one from the outside that is qualified to make intelligent decisions is saddling up with that freak show.
