Who else is happy this functional retard is the Bama coach. I, for one, am impressed by his ability to relate to the average Alabama fan.

I like DeBoer. I think he will do great at Bama if given the time too. I think his coaching staff was a bit suspect because he was going to a state and region he was unfamiliar with but by the time he brings in other coaches, I think he’ll have a better feel for the region and how to recruit and attack it.
Will be interesting to see if Bama gives him the time to.

If Bama fans are crazy and stupid enough to run him off before he has time to really build his system, I'd take him in a heartbeat to replace Napier if he'd take the UF job (don't think he would after being at Bama).

I am still very optimistic about having a personality like his to navigate this NIL stuff. Players -must- like the coach, now. The sport we loved is over. No more hard nosed coaches the same way. Once you come to terms with that, you realize you have to have a HC that the players like and trust.
I think he's cut out for the job in that regard. We'll see how he does down the road in terms of the product on the field, and managing expectations and psychologically coaching the boys.
