Kentucky starts their foreign trip this Wednesday. These trips are always great for teams and as a fan I really need something to watch in this dead period before football ramps up.

Schedule

-Wednesday, August 10th at 7pm ET vs. the Dominican Republic U22 National Team WIN: 108-56
-Thursday, August 11th at 7pm ET vs. Monterey Tech (Mexico) WIN: 102-40
-Saturday, August 13th at 6pm ET vs. Carleton University (Canada) WIN: 118-56
-Sunday, August 14th at 12pm ET vs. the Bahamas National Team WIN: 98-74

*All games on SEC Network

Kentucky Bahamas Tour

(And save the "Of course a UK fan is talking basketball, it's football season". There isn't shite going on right now)

We’ve already seen these threads from non basketball schools like Auburn/Arkansas/Alabama. Seeing a UK one doesn’t hurt

Be interesting to see how the new pieces and parts fit together.

I'm looking forward to seeing the jumps Toppin and Collins have taken. Gonna need them to if we're gonna be a top 3 team

You saying Arkansas isn’t a basketball school?

I’m confused.

I'm excited to see CJ finally. They were discussing over/under on how many 3s Big O is allowed to shoot on the radio this morning I suspect he'll turn it loose since it's preseason, so what the heck right? Also Toppin who has gotten his swole on this offseason, ready to see what he does.

Bengals preseason v Cardinals is Friday.
Reds have the Field of Dreams game Thursday.
CAYTS have hoops on Wednesday.

LFG baws!

That might be the most likely sport Arkansas might be for, but they’re still not one by most reasonable standards of accomplishment

Arkansas, while still a ways away from our insanity, is the closest thing to another basketball school in the SEC. They care. Whether they are good or shite, Hog fans care about their basketball team. Everyone else is a Johnny come lately whenever their team is remotely worth a frick. Auburn the most recent example of this phenomenon. After the Hogs I'd put Tennessee. They tend to support their basketball team in down years better than most, but they aren't diehards. Arkansas fans are. They have our respect as a fanbase even if we don't like them.

Bahamas trips are always fun. Its a nice little preseason vacation to play a few exhibition games and do a little team bonding. In fact the team got started by all wearing matching T-shirts featuring an image Assistant coach Chin Coleman in his swimming gear.

Background on this image, two of the players didn't know how to swim so the team took lessons together before the trip.

Then I’d like to know what your standards are re: basketball school. Granted we went through some dark years under heath, pelphry and Anderson, although Anderson returned us to respectability. I’m not claiming Arkansas is a blue blood but to say they aren’t a basketball school based on accomplishments is absurd and to lump us in with Alabama and auburn is even more ridiculous.

I’m not trying to be rude, but come on now.

You can’t go 25 straight years without a sweet 16 and act like you’re a basketball school.

You just can’t do it. That’s my policy.

This is a very accurate post. Our basketball team is a source of pride for us. Even in our good football years, there are many hog fans who prefer the basketball hogs. Eddie Sutton did this to us in the 70’s.
