They're doing it for the same reason "Johnny Football" was trademarked: To keep some idiot or group of idiots (like Aggieland Outfitters) from attempting to profit from merchandise with that name and having it traced to him, jeopardizing his eligibility.

FTR, I don't care for the nickname. If you have watched Hill, he isn't particularly thrilling anyway. He makes good decisions (so far) and throws on target up to 35 yards.
At this point I would be much more inclined to say he has been a game manager. Doing what needs to be done and not taking too many chances. We have about 7 or 8 more "trilling" players on offense anyway.
