The Hoover Met is, by itself, sucking the very life out of SEC baseball.
A new ballpark with comfortable seats in the SEC's home city? I guess that MIGHT make sense...

I'm definitely for that. But it won't happen until the current contract is up.

where will rv's park at the new park?

Hell no. Hoover sucks. I'm steadfast in rotating the tournament there's so many awesome Minor league parks that can be used.
If there's a permanent location it needs to be in Memphis at Autozone Park.

I agree. The best part about the new stadium is that it is right across the street from Good People Brewery.

Explain how a minority of the overall fanbase who doesn't spend money in the host city is a big deal?

RV's completely defeat the purpose of a vacation. I hate them.

With all of the great cities to choose from in the conference, I don't understand why it should remain solely in Birmingham.
But yeah, this ballpark blows.

seems like there is a lot of demand for it and they are making a nice chunk of change off just the fee to stay there.

The 142-space RV Park right next to Hoover Metropolitan Stadium sold out for the week of the 2013 tournament on May 28 of last year, two days after last year's tournament ended, said Jackie Tortomasi, the manager of the RV park.
"We are completely full," she said. "We have 142 RV spaces, and we have a record waiting list of 83 people.
Every team in the tournament, including newcomers Missouri and Texas A&M, are represented in the RV Park, Tortomasi said. Even the mayor of College Station, Texas, is there in an RV, she said.

Staying in the Hoover RV Park during the SEC Baseball Tournament costs $250 for the week. RV spots for next year's tournament go on sale on May 28, Tortomasi said. "We expect to sell out within about two hours," she said.

Just move it to Gwinnett permanently. Move the offices too. Atlanta is the epicenter of the SEC. Piss on the rest of your shities.

yeah thats not even close to a good enough reason to keep it there. that park is a dump. and the fences are WAY too deep. man renewing that contract was a huge mistake.

Well, the thousands of fewer seats is a factor as well.

There is another brewery on the way too, Beer Engineers, and its gonna be right next door to Good People. Also, the ballpark sits on Third Avenue...if you drive down Third, you'll come across Cahaba Brewing, and then Avondale Brewing (both produce better beers, IMHO)...

No it isn't. The RV park holds, what? 100 RV's? So we're talking about 400 tickets?
Please.

That packed house for a game between the best travelling team to Hoover and the local favorite today really solidifies your argument.
