Nah. If Mike DuBose couldn’t kill it, then it’s never going to die. We were ranked 3rd in 2000 and went 3-8.

God knows he tried hard enough.

There is a reason Saban got out last year. NIL and transfer portal is causing more parody also. Bama still makes the playoff and probably makes the semis at least.

Come on, this is not parity. This is players with money choosing to spend the week reading headlines about how great they are while getting their dicks wet when they should be putting in the time watching film, studying etc.

This is a team without heart/drive/pride/whatever you want to call it. This is not about Vandy getting a surge in talent making them able to compete. Good QB, but not the first time Vandy has had a good QB.

And I think the staff was every much as guilty about it as the players. Probably thought it was an opponent they could use to "work on things" etc. Then suddenly you're in a dogfight and you ain't did shite to prep.

Welcome to the SEC moment like when a rookie gets knocked on his arse in his first season.

Not worse than UL Monroe. Not worse than UCLA when ranked #3. Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt.

Vanderbilt.

Mike DuBose never lost to Vanderbilt. Mike Shula never lost to Vanderbilt.

Kalen DeBoer should have been fired as soon as he got back to the locker room.

This thread is stupid. Have your fun with the loss but it was not a program killer. Thats just insane talk.

Saban inherited a shite program when he lost to Monroe.

DeBoer inherited a Porsche and promptly drove it off a cliff and watched it explode.

NIL killed Alabama football
Only because it ran Saban and his process off. He knew he wouldn't win another NC if everyone could buy players like he had been doing at Bama. It's not coincidence he left when he did.

Meh, they went 10-2 and finished #8 two years before Saban arrived. The "rebuilt from scratch" narrative is bullshite. Shula just lost the support of the REC after one bad year and missing on Tebow. They were ready to hop back on board with the quickness for Saban (and even RichRod). Didn't hurt that 2007 happened to be the first time Alabama ever produced three 5* recruits (even if only one of them was worth a shite). REC was jizzing themselves over Tyler Love and BJ Scott lol.

Oh shut up. Just because you can't load up on nothing but five stars and make them ride the bench for multiple years potentially squandering their talent. You're just f****** upset because teams like Ole Miss can get all your players and dominate your arse now.

It went south for Shula when Prothro got hurt and the entire offense disappeared. It was clear he didn't have a clue. It's clear DeBoer doesn't have one either. If anyone on the REC had any balls he'd be gone tonight but alas.
