After only one game:
OM plays a school ranked 24 by AP and 26 by the coaches. They win a tight game.
LSU plays a school ranked 23 by the coaches and 26 by AP. They completely curb stomp them in ALL phases of the game.
And you’re speculating that OM will beat LSU?

Les was a good coach for many years. If Deboer has his success that's a good run. There isn't a current Saban on deck.
Les was a damn good coach for years. Then he became stubborn, averse to change, and refused to evolve. Les was too loyal to his staff... to his own detriment relative to LSU.
I miss a quirky Les Miles/Houston Nutt/Ed O (crazy uncle) type in the SEC. The game has become so cut-throat and serious with all the money tied up in this sport. Those guys just loved coaching, had fun and it showed in their personalities.

Every coordinator from 2014-2020 is currently a head coach in FBS, most of those in the P4. His inability to build and maintain a solid staff made it more difficult to recruit and maintain a solid roster - that + the portal and NIL.
There was a stint of a few years where Saban employed former SEC HC's and former NFL coaches as fricking positions coaches some were low-level analysts. A full staff of experienced, professional coaches training, teaching and developing top talent is unheard of, but those men wanted to coach under the greatest, so they came and Bama football benefitted.

Les had the worst luck with qb's. Jennings and Harris were atrocious.
