Only because Alabama is a good team. It's also hit or miss on if they are good or not. Last year the FSU game looked awesome, this year it looks like a free win. Who knows what they will be next year, probably free winish.
Those 2 of the 4 possible OOC games Alabama will play in addition to the SEC schedule.
It's great for data points is the big thing. The more good games between conferences the easier it is to measure strength between them. Without them all the teams end up in bubbles.
It's just the direction Alabama has been trying to push college football. They want better season games. The fans wanted it as well.

Alabama's OOC schedule has gotten better
They actually traveled to Wisconsin this year
