Saw him once at house of blues in New Orleans. He is taller and bigger than you think.

I am extremely happy that Ken Stabler didn't marry a member of my family or become a school bus driver.

I am also extremely disappointed that 17 year old me didn't sit at the stool next to him at the Flora-Bama (when it was still a sketchy biker bar surrounded by sand dunes and not 30 story condos) in the early 80's when I walked in on an empty bar one morning with just he and Joe Gilchrist (the owner) shooting the shite over a dozen Miller Lites. Instead, I rummaged thru the lost and found box and picked up the flip flops I had somehow left there the night before and walked the 1/2 mile back down the beach to the motel where my buddies and I were staying. And I have kicked myself in the arse over it ever since.

The book, Snake, is very entertaining and is worth reading.

The chapter with John Matuszak is so funny

Played American Legion baseball with Kenny. Played double headers on Sunday, Snake pitched both games and drank a 6-pack between games. Spent many days at Flora-Bama with him. Pirates picked him in the first round out of HS.

Always reminded me of a great nine ball player. He was incredible when all the money was on the table. Definitely one of the greats of his era.

Ken Stabler is a POS, typical hero for Bama. How many DUIs is he up to?
