"Ok...let me preface this by saying that I am hearing this from 2 different totally separate sources. I'm not saying it's true or even close but this is definitely out there. Can anyone please confirm or deny? (NAME DELETED) (NAME DELETED) Undoubtedly most coaches knew the sanctions that were going to be handed down to USC a few weeks ago, or at least they had a really good idea. There is some loophole with the NCAA, since they will be banned 2 years from postseason play, that any player on their roster with 2 or less years of eligibility remaining (basically those who will never get an opportunity to play in bowl at USC again) will be allowed to transfer and not have to sit out a year. With that said, I am hearing that there is a really good possibility that Mitch Mustain will be transferring to MSU and enrolled in the 2nd summer term. We are the only school he is considering. For whatever reason, he has been fairly close to Dan Mullen for years and wanted to transfer to Florida when he left Arkansas, but Arkansas wouldn't release him within the conference. Also, Malzhan has been counseling him and advised him that he should do this since our offense is similar to the one he ran in high school and he shouldn't have too much of an adjustment other than getting to know personnel AND because if they made a big deal about it and moaned and groaned pretty loudly to block the move Mullen has plenty of "dirt" on their recruitment of Cam Newton that he will leak. Now, I'm not sure I believe any of this. I find it hard to believe that Auburn would help us get an immediate impact player like Mustain, however, I am hearing this pretty loudly and it has a really good shot at getting done. "
