An LSU fan attempting to put that on Bama after the entire SEC just lived through a 15 year existential meltdown from LSU over your former coach leading us to a dynasty is peak hilarity.

Lane wanted the Bama job desperately when Saban retired. Its established fact.

Why? Because he's a raging narcissist who cant handle that Saban fired him and he needs to validate to himself that he isn't what Saban said he was at the time.

You're acting like a guy dating a girl with a huge bodycount worrying about why she's always talking about an ex. It is what it is, either lock her down or realize its always going to be a lingering thing.

The good news for you is that most of the powers that be were here when Lane was and remember what that trainwreck looked like so its highly unlikely he ever coaches here.

Kiffin coached at Alabama.

Alabama is probably the top job in the country.

So obviously, the fit seems to be there.

Having said that, I'm not convinced a guy with an ego who wants to build a dynasty type program and leave a legacy would view Alabama as better spot than LSU because it has been done multiple times at Alabama.

If Kiffin's goals are to be the "best to ever do it", doing it at LSU gives him much more of a claim to that than doing it at Alabama.

It doesn’t have to be his dream job, but it is undeniably better than LSU.

Pretty sure it doesn't even matter.

We won 3 SEC championships and a national championship.

It's ok buddy I know you are scared to death that Kiffin is going to leave you at the altar like Saban did and you had to watch him build a dynasty in the same conference.. It would be hilarious if he left you a few weeks after taking the job, that is honestly what the athletic department, the AD, and the dang governor deserved with the way they handed the entire hiring and firing process.. The difference between LSU and Bama is that LSU needs Kiffin and they need him to work out badly.. Bama doesn't need Kiffin, we don't need to give a coach our first born child to get him to come to our program.. Still rolling in top recruiting classes, the program will never go back to what is what under Saban.. LSU will continue to try and catch up to Bama and I don't see it happening in my lifetime!

The bigger question would be, why would Alabama fans want to hire a coach who has never won a thing of significance, and who will inevitably embarrass the university?

I'm curious as to why everyone thinks that bama would actually hire Lane since they hate the guy so much.

Bama wouldn't, but it tears LSU fans up to know that we could if we wanted.

This. Just trying to needle LSU posters.

Lane won’t be at LSU forever obviously, but he is there for the foreseeable future which is ruffling the feathers of another certain fanbase for some reason.

Ohh, this one is my favorite.

"Alabama is only good because they've had the best players and the best coaches of all time."

"If we took those 42 years of their history away, they'd only have 6 national championships and 7 SEC titles."

Lane is going to be very successful at LSU. You think he will sign his son to play QB for him? 2 more years away, I think.

Man there is some deep seated insecurity behind this thread.

Lane is always going to keep checking out other girls, I mean opportunities. That is a feature, not a bug.

No, it's laughable that bama fans actually believe they can... when the reality is, they never can.
