But go ahead, change the subject.
You brought up a game that your team didn't even play in and hasn't sniffed since 1939...frick.

LSU road fans are 99% awesome. in Baton Rouge, however...
I think that tho ones who follow the team on the road are mostly grads, students - not the sidewalk bunch.

I've heard plenty of horror stories about how bad LSU fans are and always wondered if there was any truth to it. I've only been to one LSU/A&M game and that was back in '94 at baton rouge. I was in college and pretty inebriated, but I truly didn't remember the fans giving my buddies & me too much grief. In fact, I remember it being a pretty dang good time. I say all that to say that I was curious to see what I thought about LSU's fans as an adult.
I can proudly report that I was very impressed with your fan base. Everyone was polite and I didn't see a single incident that would make me think otherwise. I also met a guy who works for your athletic foundation.....I think his mama was a little too fond of "Gone With The Wind", though....his name was Rhett Butler. Hell of a nice guy. He & some of his buddies tailgated with us for a while before the game.
I'll gladly welcome y'all back into College Station & I might even make the run over to Baton Rouge next year!

No, I brought up an example of an offense that doesn't work against a stout SEC defense. It was clearly relevant.

You sound just like WVU last year, FWIW.
OMG we gained 575 yards and got beat by 4 TDs!!!
Well first of all, we didn't get beat by 4 TDs. We also missed two FGs and and XP. I will give LSU credit for 3 out of the 4 TOs. The one that really hurt us bad was the ball that bounced off Evans chest for an INT... he was on his way deep into LSU territory.
Honestly, there is no comparison to the WV game last year. We actually have some semblance of a defense.

Been there for LSU games, but not as an opposing fan. I'll be there next year with a group of LSU fans...we'll see how it goes. I'm excited, personally.

Nearly every LSU poster prior to the game said that Mingo, Montgomery and crew would knock Manziel out of the game before half, I'm still looking to see where he even got a hard hit put on him.
The only one I recall was the late hit out of bounds that sent him over the bench, but he bounced up pretty quickly.

JFF too fast. The Micky mouse offense is effective but the scooby doo defense and special teams need some work
Posted on 10/22/12 at 10:10 am to Golfer
I'm not sure most people really consider that last fumble during the lateral-lateral-lateral-etc as time ran out a TO that we really need to worry about.

Stop making excuses God Damnit. We lost. We had our opportunities but lost. LSU made one a few more plays than we did and that's why they won.
Some of you sound like a bunch of damn whiners. Get over it. We have a team that's going to compete in the SEC, but they couldn't get it done when it mattered. ITs as simple as that.
Just stop the fricking excuses. On to Auburn.

Relapse98... this wasn't meant to you, I Just happened to click reply on your post.

Agreed. I'm actually happy with our defense considering what I thought it'd be. It's not going to win us games, but it's not a huge liability at this point. I think most of us Ags were really worried we'd be a Baylor, but our defense is pretty decent.
Damontre Moore has been a beast.

BallGravy, are you referring to our discussion on whether our offense can be successful in the SEC? It's a discussion that hinges on similar facts that one would use to imply a moral victory but it's a different conversation. Nobody is saying that we actually won our game (or gave it away). Golfer seems to be confused on that issue.
My point is that if we adequately fill in our weaknesses (kicking game, getting our QB to see his receivers, etc), we'll be just fine offensively. I'm not worried about our STYLE of offense.

You really don't understand the point of a 3 man front and the adjustment our D made in the second quarter, do you?

I'm sure she's like the a&m alumni (I mean former student) who sat next to us who asked what a chop block was.....does anyone there know football?

Basically LSU had the 3 man front and brought one LB or safety from a different direction every time after the first 20-25 minutes.
It was confusing for a Freshman QB and it showed. The offensive line should have done a better job picking up the extra LB/safety rush.

Nope, one of the most engaged fanbases in cfb does not know football

My first trip to A&M since 1991.
- Traveled there on #105 through Cleveland and Conroe. Shorter distance but too many lights and school zones. But I have to say... I love those 2 lane roads with a 70 MPH speed limit. Texas lets their drivers drive! Came back on interstates..way easier.
- Spent Friday evening walking around campus. Checked out the Bonfire Memorial, Student Union (took off my cap), and stadium area. Scoreboard by dead dogs is sort of comical. Overall, a nice campus but not overly appealing (compared to SEC standards). Amazed to see a railroad and trains hauling arse through the middle of campus, but I guess that's how College STATION was founded. A&M fans were overly friendly, talkative, and provided free beer. We were able to walk into the stadium and check out our seats, which was surprising considering the bomb threat that day. Security just told us to stay off of grass.
- Northgate area is pretty cool. Spent Friday night at Dixie Chicken. Thought I was living out a scene from "Road House".
- "Average" tailgating on game day, but A&M deserves a mulligan for the 11:00 start. I was amazed at how many grassed areas around campus aren't used by tailgaters. I sat in Section 149, above the LSU band. Very poorly designed stadium. Our section was probably 20 yards beyond the end zone, so we basically stood at an angle to watch the game. Stadium does NOT hold in noise. I traveled to Auburn and Florida this year, and would say it reached about 65% of their noise level. Tradition is over the top and approaching the "strange" limit. Amazed that the team wastes pre-game warm-up time to participate in a stadium cheer. Tradition also limits band time and piped in music during time-outs (not necessarily a bad thing).
- LSU student section was near A&M students in end zone. Some pretty good stuff dished out by LSU students..."SEC! SEC!", "Old Man Football!", etc. A&M students took everything in stride except for "UT Rejects!".
- Went down on field and took pics after game. I don't know another school that let's fans do that. Pretty cool.
- Overall, a good trip and I'll go back. Thanks

Oh now you want to have a conversation. Done posting gifs?
I think Manziel will learn from his mistakes. I understand your adjustments were confusing for him and led to him making mistakes. I do not think we will have such a hard time once he learns how to deal with this.
I think most A&M fans were upset we didn't run the ball more after you adjusted. Ben Malena was having a pretty good day.
But I think our offense will serve us fine in the future, especially once we get a little more experience. Few QBs do well against LSU - I don't think Manziel did particularly bad simply because of the type of offense that we run, which seems to be the argument here.
