The worst thing that could have happened for LSU is for Alabama to lose to Vanderbilt. It seems fun now. But what happens to LSU fans if LSU gets their arse beat by a team that lost to Vanderbilt?

Management is responsible for 25% or more of the accounts on this board. They don’t overlook any school. Just look at the new Vanderbilt fans that signed up this week.

Far too early to jump ship, but I do see areas of concern. But I won't fully judge Deboer until starting next year. He had to get rid of some situations Saban created. Lank being the biggest.

Nah, it’s not.
This isn’t regular Vandy. It’s a decent team with a killer QB.
Florida 06 who won a ship barely beat a shite 6-6 FSU team. If they had a stud QB transfer like Vandy had, we would’ve loss. That game was also at the end of the season, not week 5.
Championship teams always have a little luck, and with more parity from NIL and transfer portal having powerhouse teams have less depth, there’s gonna be more shockers and losses. And now, you get more than one mulligan with the 12 teams so it’ll even itself out
And on top of all that, it’s year 1. There’s always some non smooth transition and growing pains. Even if you are inheriting a talented roster. Jumping ship is dumb this early.

Not one player on Bama is old enough to remember/understand/appreciate the Mike(s) years. All they have known is winning along with a great number of the fanbase. Couple that with the easy way out of the transfer portal and now with players getting paid it all equals entitlement and egocentric playing. I am getting old (mid 40s) and the whole setup of college sports in the last few years is complete garbage.
I cannot fathom what an old school coach or a parent that has any modicum of parenting skills would do to their son if they did the following: celebrate after making a tackle 30’yards down field, throw up an incomplete sign when the ball was thrown in the first row of the stands like you broke up a pass from Tom Brady, refuse to come off the field when told to, KICK A SPOTTED BALL, and any other of the myriad of stupid displays on the field. I take that back, I can fathom…the helmet would be taken away, the entitled player would run stadiums the next week of practice until they have an out of body experience, and they would run the scout team until they earned playing time. And as a parent I would take every step possible to humble my son.
The only short term remedy I can think of is to absolutely bench a player and hurt the monetary bottom line affecting the NIL. Once people start getting a negative ROI then the message will get across and money will not be spent on these madonnas.
This applies to ALL collegiate teams but Bama happens to be the subject of the thread.
We have a serious problem with college athletics as it stands.
