Oregon Health Authority advising than any large gathering in the state through at least September, including sporting events, should be cancelled or significantly modified.

It seems pretty clear with the information trickling out at this point that regardless of the scenario, the PAC-12 will likely not be playing football this year.

All the NCAA has to do is say "any players that participate in games during the 2020 season will forfeit any remaining eligibility

And the NCAA would lose those lawsuits quickly.

Plus, it would be GREAT if the NCAA tried that. That might be what ends that terrible organization

Yeah, they might as well go ahead and shut down the NCAA if they tried that. I'm no economist, but I'm wagering that if the P5 just said 'frick this, we're out of here' one day, they would fare much better without the NCAA than the NCAA would without them.

What lawsuits? Nobody is forcing players and universities to play under their rules.

I'm down to actually play every SEC team for a season.

That actually would be awesome

But the NCAA could overrule that scenario if they want

And just what could/would the NCAA do if the SEC said frick you and did it anyway???

Does Greg Sankey have the balls to say frick You NCAA, or will he bend to their will?

See if 2 other teams want to join in from another conference and do 4 pods with 4 teams.

Play 3 teams in your pod, 2 from the other 3 and then a rival game for a 10 game season.

Each pod champ gets in to the playoffs. Sets up semi and final for the championship.

There are lots of interesting scenarios to contemplate, but realistically, I doubt we are going to see any schedule changes, unless the full season is played without fans, because the logistics would be too daunting. Now, if they did make the decision to go without fans for the full season, then they could contemplate playing 12 conference games, or accepting 2 temporary members and playing quads, and all other kinds of wild stuff.

Yep. Head to head would be the tiebreaker. Haven't done the math on this, but how likely would it be to have the top 3 teams with the same record at the end of the season? Top 4?

Very possible. Auburn beats Georgia who beats Alabama who beats Auburn.

Hell, even four. Auburn beats Florida, who beats Georgia, who beats Alabama, who beats Auburn.

We already have precedent for what will happen: the SECCG.

The SEC was the pioneer. The first. How many conferences have championship games now?

When the SEC comes out and announces that they are going to do this, the other Power 5s (with the exception of possibly the PAC out there on the left coast) and some Group of 5s will announce similar plans within a week. You can take that to the bank. They won't sit back and let the SEC get all the TV money and exposure to upcoming recruits.

Don't forget who the NCAA is: the member schools. And there's no way those member schools would allow eligibility to be lost in this scenario.
