You are an absolute retard and you don't know football

Does a system QB lead the nation for 2 years in passing in a completely different system in a completely different conference and on a completely different team as well?

Joey Aguilar led the nation in passing yards the previous two years of any QB in the country before coming to Tennessee and you fricking retards here told us that he was going to be a downgrade from Nico, a consistently sub 200 yards a game passing QB.

You don't know ANYTHING. That's why you wanted BK as your coach. LOSER.

Joey sees the field and can read a defense as good as any QB I've seen at the college level. His head is literally on a swivel out there at all times.

Joey has only been at Tennessee since fall camp. What he's doing is amazing actually. You are dumber than dirt.

Aguilar had a strong game against Georgia...and his numbers were better...but it was the two tipped passes that should have been caught that ended up being interceptions that ultimately was the difference. Take away those turnovers and Tennessee wins in regulation instead of losing in OT.

So we also giving Ty a pass vs FSU because he line wasn't protecting for shite? Or are we just blaming other players when it is some vol receiver who fails at his job. Alabama OL fails, well that is on Simpson.

Against the same defense, Joey Aguilar posted almost 100 more yards passing and threw for twice as many touchdowns.

He do that in Athens or Knoxville?

OP would rather have an L if it meant the QB had a better stat line.

Joey did more than enough to win. Kicker got nervous when Heupel iced him ironically.

Heupel's clock management in close games is really bad this year and that's the only thing I'm actually nervous about on Saturday.

The thread title is "Joey Aguilar out performed Ty Simpson against their only common opponent UGA". I didn't know FSU was a common opponent.

That being said...how many sacks has each taken?

Tennessee is #10 with 0.8 per game
Alabama is #83 with 2.2 per game

Is that because of the OL performance, or because the QB wasn't able to get free or throw the ball away?

This Week 4 Poll had Bama's OL ranked #23 and Tennessee's #52 (I couldn't find a more recent poll from this site).

ESPN had Bama with an All-American Offensive Tackle, while Tennessee didn't have anyone close to that level of accolade.

This one had Alabama with the #1 rated Offensive Line in the SEC while Tennessee's was 11th.

So, receivers tipping balls up and them getting intercepted is different than QBs getting sacked behind highly touted OLs, in my opinion.

Aguilar sucks at defense and special teams. You got him on those two.

UcheaT has no chance of winning a night game in Tuscaloosa.

My arguments are sound and the numbers back them up. The only advantage Simpson has number wise, is the int category.

Like I said, Joey Aguilar and Tennessee would NEVER get blown out by FSU.

No, anyone who compares stats the way you are is pretty dumb. You are completely ignoring context and how games flow, what the game plan is and many other factors.

For example, when a team is behind you expect their QB to have more stats. When a team is ahead all game, you can expect a QB to have less stats. Because the games aren't played based on trying to get your QB the most stats, it's based on winning.

You needed more yards because you gave up over 40 to Georgia. Alabama held Georgia to 21.

Simpson looked better to me. Joey got some busted coverages and poor positional play to help him out vs UGA.

You are quoting stats without context on the strength of the opponents.

FSU is #29 in the FEI power rankings.

Teams Tennessee has played tougher than that:

#2 Georgia

The rest of your schedule:

#66 Syracuse
FCS ETSU
#122 UAB
#44 Miss St
#43 Arkansas

The rest of Alabama:
#128 UL Monroe
#73 Wisconsin
#2 Georgia
#23 Vandy
#17 Mizzou

FSU is the 4th most difficult team Alabama has played and Tennessee's 2nd best is Arkansas that recently fired it's HC.

Joey Aguilar isn’t the problem, the lack of a competent defense is the problem

He’s the definition of a system QB. It would be like giving the Heisman to a Mike Leach QB. Heupel’s QBs don’t do shite in the league.

Aguilar has played in 31 FBS Games in his career. In his first game (09-02-23) he only threw for 174 yards (11-13 for 4tds and 0 ints). That is the only game out of those 31 that he has not thrown for over 200 yards.

Ty Simpson has played in 22 FBS Games in his career. He has thrown for 200 or more yards in every game where he has had more than 10 pass attempts (he threw for exactly 200 yards against Missouri to keep that streak going).

Both of these guys are capable of putting up good numbers. I will say that it isn't just Heupel's system that has Aguilar putting up impressive stats.

I want to play the what if game.

If Ryan Williams hadn't dropped some wide open bombs, Ty would have had more yards.

See how stupid that is...

Oh please. I've never heard you effin hypocrites talk about game flow when directly comparing stats. Both QBs played the same D and Joey lit that same defense up more than Simpson did. Stop it with the BS mental gymnastics BS.
