Almost as impressive as Tua’s entire family leaving Hawaii for the beautiful setting of Tuscaloosa.

He didn’t retire, he took off his son’s senior year to watch him play.

Also his dad is a D1 defensive coordinator making 130k a year

I would think most empty nesters making that could afford to take 6 months off for one football season.

If he had lived in Hawaii maybe we could have got his whole family to move here.

But would they have been able to overcome the language barrier like Tia's family?

Burrow's last coaching position was as defensive coordinator for Ohio University from 2005 until his retirement after the 2018 season. At the time of his retirement, he had been one of the longest-tenured coordinators in Division I football.

quote:

He timed his retirement from coaching to coincide with the final college football season of his son Joe Burrow, who is now playing said season at LSU in 2019. The elder Burrow publicly acknowledged that his wish to attend all of his son's 2019 games played a role in his retirement decision.

Jimmy Burrow, defensive coordinator & Tim Albin, offensive coordinator ($126,333 each)

That figure is from the 2013 season. He made $143,588 in 2018. Yeah, really struggling to make it to college games for a year. I followed Iowa State around for 3 years, it's not that expensive, especially when tickets are free.

He's 65 years old. You know, retirement age? Think he can afford to take a few months off
