He's looking to be more and more of a consensus pick.

quote:

ODDS TO WIN 2019 HEISMAN TROPHY

Joe Burrow (LSU) 1/1
Jalen Hurts (Oklahoma) 7/4
Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama) 4/1
Justin Fields (Ohio State) 10/1
Chase Young (Ohio State) 20/1
J.K. Dobbins (Ohio State) 40/1
Justin Herbert (Oregon) 50/1
Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin) 100/1
Sam Ehlinger (Texas) 100/1
D'Andre Swift (Georgia) 100/1
Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) 100/1
Travis Etienne (Clemson) 100/1
Chuba Hubbard (Oklahoma State) 100/1
Jerry Jeudy (Alabama) 100/1

Also interesting: Ohio State with #4, 5, and 6 best odds. Young and Dobbins will hurt Fields chances.

Curious if a loss to Alabama in Tuscaloosa earns him the LF7 treatment.

Dude is a freaking gamer though.

Chase Young at 20/1 is good money in my opinion. Dude is a freak and if Burrow and Tua are underwhelming to end the year he could win it

Fields shouldnt be anywhere on a list with Burrow/Tua/Hurts/Young

I'd love a for a dominating defensive guy to win it but Fields and Dobbins probably make Young (or any tOSU player) not a good value pick.

Let me remind you about why LF7 got that "treatment" in that 2015 showdown.

LF7 = 19 rushes, 31 yards

Derrick Henry = 38 rushes, 210 yards

Depends on how it happens. I think if Joe post good numbers in a loss, he will be fine. He is playing at a very high level right now, Tua and Fields are the only QB playing at his level.

I thought LF7 was the best player that year, but he has to help from his offensive line and scheme. LSU's offense was so vanilla thanks to the hat, Bama just keyed off LF7. That was more Les's failure than LF7's. Literally, one player no matter how good can beat 11 guys.

Derek Henry was no where the best RB that year. Chubb and LF7 where freaking awesome that year.

I dunno. He's the best defensive player I've seen on OSU, but as a DL they can absolutely chip and double team him every play so his statline may not look good.

Wisconsin did some really dumb things this weekend, like lining him up 1-1 vs a TE. He is a player you have to chip or double EVERY play.

He would need to get to something like 20 sacks and 5 FFs to have a real shot (he has 13.5 and 4-5 games left)

I may pass on into the Ether if a LSU QB wins the fricking Heisman.

Barring a total collapse i see the winner of LSU/Bama's QB getting the Hiesman

Hurts could have better stats but his teams loss to K-State will lose him votes. as of today Burrow has states plus team wins giving him the better odds. but if Tua comes back for LSU/Bama and tBama wins, Tua will have stats plus undefeated record and head to head win vs Burrow.

Even as a LSU fan i say that gives Tua the nod. and hiesman comes out before playoff, so even a head to head win in playoffs will be too late.

same goes for Burrow, he wins @ Bama, he is your hiesman

I think He can win or lose the Heisman Friday but he’ll at least get invited unlike LF7 (which is a bit of a joke not even being at the ceremony but whatever)

It's about time to give it to someone other than a QB, and Chase Young is the best player in the country on the best team in the country right now.

4 sacks and a FF in the biggest game of the year? He's still not getting enough credit.

Not dispositive, but interesting nonetheless: Charlie Ward (1993) was the last player to miss a game in the season they won the Heisman. Long time ago.

You can’t lay that on LF7. That was piss poor play calling that was as predictable as the sunrise.

If this truly was a best player in the country award then everyone would be fighting for second. Chase Young isn't human.

When these things jell through the media it discredits the entire process. Clearly Burrow deserves to be a strong candidate and perhaps he should lead the pack, but not by much. Tua is at worst a good game away from overtaking the lead if it's an honest evaluation. This is just a story. Thankfully voters don't always bend to media. Last year Tua was the preordained winner in the media for months, enough said.

Edit, I posted Young isn't even the leader in sacks...my bad, he is and by a lot. My info was a few weeks old.
Young is a certifiable bad azz.

it still pisses me off that he didn't even get an invite. i understand why he didn't win but to not even get invited and he was all the media would talk about all year was ridiculous
