The fastest way to lose to Saban and Alabama is to talk shite. The best way to beat Alabama is to be quietly confident and come into the game making no noise. Try to catch Alabama asleep. Good teams don’t have to announce they are going to beat another teams arse.

"We're going to beat his arse when he's there, don't worry," Fisher responded as the crowd laughed.

Ed O did the same thing and Bammers have cried real tears over it every day for the last 18 months.
Jimbos doing it in the off-season after losing 52-24
They didn’t do he same thing. One of them actually won a game before talking shite

I call this the Saban cycle for coaches. Get hired, be humble to Saban. Have success, feel a bit more froggy. Have a bit more success/maybe get a win over Bama, talk some trash. Get absolutely demolished by an enraged Alabama team, go back to being humble.

You can get sensitive if you want but every single record book ever will have an asterisk by this season and there will be a little footnote that says Covid year
No fans
10 first rounders missed significant time because of Covid
Best WR didn’t play
Best Olineman didn’t play
Best LBer didn’t play
Best QB missed a ton of time
shite Lawrence walks away with the heisman if he didn’t have to sit out for Covid.
I’m glad they all played in the empty stadiums and you can lie to yourself if you want but you can’t lie to me. We all know what last year was.

Off-season championship officially appointed to...Alabama.
100% of honest A&M fans listen to this and think, “Oh NO!”
100% of Bama fans think, “Thank you so much.”
Do people not realize Saban is a psychopath competitor just like Michael Jordan?

That strategy didn't work so well for O

Still waiting for Cammy to find the asterisk...

You might want to take the rest in context. Fisher was nothing but complementary toward Saban, even after his statement. I'm encouraged by how confident Fisher feels, even with a new QB and most of the OL

I like the confidence, but I just don't see it happening this year unless one of King or Calzada are exceptional and Bama's offense doesn't repeat their performance from last season. That being said, crazier things have happened in Kyle Field...

If you aren't coming for the King then what are you even doing? Jimbo said what he said because, in the SEC, it all goes through Saban. It's not a secret. We didn't hire Jimbo the finish second. Will we do it? Who the hell knows, but Jimbo is doing all the right things right now in order to stand a chance.

If you are in his position and you are expected to be successful at the highest level of your sport, then you either better be, or you better tell people you are going to be. Because if not, then what are you doing?
Edit:
Farmer, I swear to God I wrote my comment before I even read yours.

It's kinda weird the things BAMA prompts from otherwise sane people. When is the last time a power 5 coach said they were going to whip some opponents azz? I just don't hear it. Has Jimbo ever said that before about any opponent? And yet he "write that check" about the best team in college football.
