I didn’t bring it up Tyson Walton

Just relayed facts

Tulane ain’t happening unless game is in Tiger stadium every year. Otherwise it doesn’t make financial sense

Which would be cool for the sake of tradition. But it doesn't bother me if it doesn't happen

Oh, hell no. Just because you are probably too young to realize, don’t make it untrue. Arkansas is our #1 historic rival. Not OU, certainly not A&M. The level of hate of those days when Texas and Arkansas were fighting for far greater things than bragging rights created a true rivalry. Something that I would agree has built up with OU, but the absolute hate for OU does not really hit home. And as far as A&M, the games never meant that much because of a historical quirk of both teams not being in a position to claim a national title at the same time when the game was played. That is a HUGE factor in creating real hate. Arkansas, aside from being just unbelievably annoying, actually had the ability to beat Texas when both teams were at the top of the mountain. And those games were epic, win or lose.

This is so inaccurate that you've done a crappy job of cultivating your alter. Eat shite moron.

It would be sad to see LSU give up the annual game with State.

It would be a disaster if LSU gave up the annual game with Ole Miss.

Ole Miss, State, and Aggy or Arkansas would be the permanent opponents I would like to see LSU get.

Here is my question…if Ole Miss and State play on Thanksgiving weekend. And Texas and A&M play on Thanksgiving. Who do you want to play on Thanksgiving weekend? Would it not be Arkansas? That just seems to make the most sense to us moving forward.

I don't think I'm alone among LSU fans in caring a lot less about the Thanksgiving games than the meat and potatoes of the schedule. From my perspective that means games against Alabama, Florida, and Auburn more than a holiday playing Arkansas and A&M.

I think it would have been different if my affection were tied to some special game that meant something. The way the history has been just hasn't created any reason for me to want to preserve one of those games on that week.

You can probably empathize. A lot of your fans seem to say the same types of things about the Missouri vs Arkansas games.

First you eliminate all the in state games from the list and see who’s left

Bama- Auburn
Fla- fl st
Ole Miss- state
Tennerseeds- vandy
Aggie- horns
Cats-Cards
Uga-tech
SC- Clemson
OU-State

I think that leaves
LSU
Arkansas
Missouri

Some body has no matchup unless
Bedlam doesn’t happen
Tulane agreed to play every year at LSU
Missouri renews with Kansas

Every time a problem is solved new problems appear
Equitable scheduling is not easy

It’s not like we haven’t played with sugar on the line or a trip to Atlanta. It’s not always about playing the biggest team you can find. You have someone here who will play you. But the problem here is you won’t be paired with all of those teams you mentioned. If you think we put you in the same category as playing Alabama, or even someone like Texas due to history with them you are kidding yourself. It’s about history and keeping something nice going. We wanna play eachother no? Would you not Want your last game to be an annual matchup rather than a rotating one not knowing who it will be? There is a big difference between our teams that have played eachother 70 times or so. Than teams who we haven’t played more than 10 times. We got our name after beating y’all in a game in the early 1900s for Christ’s sake. Things will change, teams will rise and fall, series will heat up and cool off from time to time. Get off the high horse.

I don't mean to be offensive. This isn't some internet thing where I get off on insulting other programs.

I just gave you my opinion about the Thanksgiving games.

The problem most LSU fans have is that Frank Broyles told the sec office that the only way Arkansas would join the conference is if the game with LSU was the last regular season game for both teams. Another thing was the Black Friday games got old and were becoming poorly attended

Yeah I get it. But can’t really blame him. It was honestly smart on him to do so because Ole Miss and LSU are really the only teams we had significant history with and they were close distance wise (comparatively) coming in. Which is more convenient around a holiday. I don’t really care about Black Friday thing although I think it is a good time slot. Also War Memorial was a dump, but that is almost done, thank God.

For me that’s what I grew up with. I am only in my mid thirties…so that’s all I ever really knew for thanksgiving. Thanksgiving leftovers while hearing CBS SEC theme song on Friday meant LSU vs Arkansas and deer season. Now...it’s Mizzou?

State gets Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Kentucky. I will take that and rejoice. We own Texas A&M and lead Kentucky all-time. State are close. You never know who is going to win the egg bowl.

"Some body has no matchup unless Bedlam doesn’t happen"

If Bedlam continues (Gundy's comments make it seem like he doesn't want to play OU), it probably won't be on Thanksgiving weekend. Oklahoma used to play Nebraska, not OSU, on Thanksgiving weekend, so it won't be breaking tradition for them to play State earlier in the year.

True, however, it would be rather convenient for them to play on that weekend. Stay local, quality p5 opponent. NEB-OU ain’t coming back. They have played that weekend before.

As cool as its been to have LSU as our rival game, I miss playing on thanksgiving, LSU refused to play that day bc they didn’t want to do thanksgivings in BR and CS, for the horns and us, it was kind of like tradition doing thanksgiving in CS or Austin, I remember my roommates mom would clean our apartment and make us a Turkey before the game, it’s almost like a parents weekend for students
