I can understand if you have a problem with the way that he handled Rapist Winston, but his coaching ability and acumen is far superior to Sumlin.

I don’t disagree at all.
He just wouldn’t be my choice.
Take solace in the fact that no one will seek my opinion.

I don’t like Aggies arguing with Aggies on this site, but you’re out of your damn mind. There is no reasonable standard by which Fisher is anything but a GRANDSLAM hire.

Why would he go to A&M? What exactly have they won in recent memory?

I don't understand why this keeps being brought up as an argument. The pitch for head coaches is not the same as it is for 18 year old kids.

If you recall, this is the same idiot who thinks that the Mississippi Schools need to leave the SEC and be replaced by UCF and South Florida.

I actually like this idea.

I don't really understand why "what they have won recently" would matter to a potential coach, other than all things being equal, probably better that they haven't won anything recently.

Facilities - check

Pay - check

Ability to Recruit - check

No mythical coach to follow - check

Better offer elsewhere -- if not, accept.

What DFW Aggie said just above.

And the only tolerable DFW aggies are Lake Highlands aggies.

People who make the kinds of comments to which you refer are either: (a) kids themselves, (b) trolling, (c) insecure, and/or (d) “rustic”/uninformed.

No one with the intent of having a genuine conversation about the issue would make such a statement.

Thanks to Gus crapping the bed. I have no respect for Jimbo because he allowed 'Famous Jameis' to keep playing.

No means No!!

The one thing nobody has considered is this. If Jimbo were to come to A&M and win, he would be worshipped like a God - statues in his honor, etc. And he would be appreciated, at least for awhile ... At FSU, he's just another name that has to deal with a fanbase that thinks they should play in the MNC game every year.

Some fanbases like FSU, Alabama, etc demand championships to the exclusion of all else. I know there is tension there - just don't understand why he didn't take LSU last year if he wanted out so much

Let's do a quick analysis of the three top men's sports.

Football

Ole Miss: 660–402–35, 3 claimed national titles
UCF: 237–202–1
USF: 143–104
Mississippi State: 553–571–39

Men's Basketball

Mississippi State: 1347–1142, 1 Final Four, 1 Elite 8, 3 Sweet 16s, 10 NCAA Tournament appearances
Ole Miss: 1281–1282, 1 Sweet 16, 8 NCAA Tournament appearances
UCF: 672–554, 4 NCAA Tournament appearances
USF: 610-731, 3 NCAA Tournament appearances

Baseball

Mississippi State: 2,561–1,505–29, 36 NCAA Tournament appearances, 9 CWS appearances, 1 CWS Final
Ole Miss: 2103-1541-20, 21 NCAA Tournament appearances, 5 CWS appearances
UCF: 1532-1026-10, 12 NCAA Tournament appearances
USF: 1,434-1,153-5, 12 NCAA Tournament appearances

UCF and USF simply don't measure up.

Gus didn't crap the bed. He shouldn't have fricking been there in the first place. Is that really your takeaway from that season?
