Texas A&M head football coach Jimbo Fisher poked fun at TCU when asked about the local team during his Fort Worth A&M Club speaking engagement Wednesday.

“They stayed healthy. They had a lot of experience. They got to where they’ve got to get to. And then when they got to the SEC, it changed, didn’t it? When they got to the SEC, it changed,” Fisher said during the Q&A portion of the Coach’s Night event, which was held at Billy Bob’s Texas.

Fisher laughed while making what was clearly a light-hearted joke about the Horned Frogs, referencing how Georgia pounced them, 65-7, in the national championship in January. He also acknowledged that his team could learn a lot from what TCU accomplished last season.

quote:

While the inexperienced Aggies went 5-7 and dropped five of their seven one-possession games, the seasoned Horned Frogs finished 13-2 and won six of their seven one-score games. Fisher pinpointed what he felt made the difference for TCU, along with how A&M can look to emulate that success in 2023.

“They found those inches. We let them slip,” Fisher said. “In 2020, we made all of those plays. In 2022, we didn’t make those plays. They made them last year. They found the inches. They found the chemistry.

“The secret to it is no secret. … There is no coaching you put on it. It is about doing what you have to do each and every day to create the habits, so when the pressure time comes, they did.

“It is like when they ran on the field and kicked the field goal (against Baylor as time expired). There were like four or five games that went down to the wire. But give them credit. That is a credit to their culture, the team and the camaraderie. They found the inches when they had to find the inches. That is what happened. That is why they ended up where they ended up.”

TCU is better than Aggy in every major men’s sport. Their fans have also been alive to witness their football team play for a national title.

Talk about a lack of awareness.

I don’t think he’s wrong. TCU was a very opportunistic team that found ways to win. They had a phenomenal season. That is a huge credit to their coaching staff, but we all know they didn’t belong on the same field as Georgia.

However, if Jimbo doesn’t want everyone to jump his arse (and rightfully so), he should just keep his trap shut. He makes the headlines more often for running his mouth than he does with actual wins these days.

Jimbo essentially saying A&m was "inches" away from going to the CFP is so funny and pathetic. He's delusional. He put a BAD product on the field last year and has yet to take a single modicum of responsibility for it.

I mean he's speaking to the Aggies in Ft. Worth so I get it. Honestly just made me laugh and wanted to share. I am sure it will turn into an LSU/A&M shite show in here shortly

You've threatened legal action for people posting much worse, proven things you've done on various message boards with zero standing.

Daniel keeps repeating the same bullshite from his butt buddies, Tuscaloosa and cajunbama, because of how badly I’ve broken him over the years.

The difference is, the mods know I’ve never been banned for racism, because I wouldn’t be here if I ever was.

Meanwhile, Daniel has his ugly fricking face plastered all over the internet and he has to explain to friends & family why they see what they see when they Google him

I guess creating habits and culture is on the players not the coaches

Find your link, little boy. Until then, don’t come up for air until Tuscaloosa or cajunbama tell you to.

It’s not against LSU Website rules to point and laugh at Aggy incompetence.

I asked.

The coach has to make and mold the culture. Play Calling and Culture were the biggest issues for A&M, but “there is no coaching you put on it.”

These threads are like the "gotcha" commentaries on Trump.

I'm sad for you.

Trump is a winner though..

It’s why he made a point to watch LSU play twice, in person, in the GOAT season.

Trump will never watch A&M play and for that, I’m happy for him.
