If he passes up a nice NFL payday to play another also-ran season at A&M, he's not Johnny Football, he's Johnny Dumbfrick.

Is he going to bring a defense back with him?

No that's impossible LSU only birthed a football program in 2003

LSU has won the last 3 in a row. We lead the series over the last 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 50, 75, 100 and 100,000,000 years.
Old enough to forget the last 3 years, but young enough to not remember the last 20? That must be a rough age to be.

But not the past 23 years!

Will there be 1st round OTs on the line? A proven Mike Evans at WR?
tell him LSU will have an upgraded defense. Lol

Where did I discount the last 3 years?

JFF will snap to his senses once the euphoria of the bowl performance wears off and he really thinks about leaving 1st round money on the table.

ulsu fan: Speedy, why not stay home?
Speedy: nah, uslu is tired and old, played out
ulsu fan: wow
Speedy: I want to go somewhere fresh and new and exciting style of offense. Plus that FOOTBALL PALACE they are building. WOW!

Lol. 11-2 to barely 9-4. Trending the wrong direction as you lose first round talent at QB OT WR.
Cocaine is a helluva drug.

But that was a pretty narrow band in history that y'all "owned" us; it did follow directly on a 4-1 run by LSU where we beat your SWC Champion teams 3 years in a row and then knocked off your top 10 (at the time) squad in 1990 with a Tiger team that ended up 5-6. It took all 5 of those wins in a row for y'all to edge us out 6-4 in that 10 year series. And of course we already owned a 22-14-3 lead before that series began.

After A&M won two games in a row in 1955 and 1956, the series ended and didn't start back up until 1960...after Bear left and A&M was not good.
The teams play the next 14 years (A&M won once), and when A&M finally wins in 1974 and 1975 and gets good, the series ends abruptly after the 1975 season.
The series resumes in 1986 and LSU wins the first three. Then A&M wins 6 of the next 7 and LSU once again calls off the series.
Everybody talks about the last time LSU bailed out on the series when they started losing, but they did it three times in 40 years. Until I started doing research for my most significant wins series, I thought LSU snubbed A&M twice, but come to find out they did it three times. Amazing...

Tired and old? Played out?

Well, A&M won the first three games we ever played and then when LSU finally won one the series just ended. So historically, the "snubbing" started with A&M.
As for the '95 issue, that was a 10 year series that was not intended to be extended long before 1995 because the SEC had gone to an unprecedented (at the time) 8 game conference schedule in '92. Up until then, we also had an annual series going with Florida State. Even back then, playing an 8 game schedule against the SEC, plus two out of conference matchups against top level programs (like FSU and A&M) was considered insanely suicidal (and contributed to the 6 straight losing season "dark ages" of LSU football). As soon as the SEC decided in 1991 to expand and go to an 8 game schedule, the decision was made to let the series end in 1995. Many LSU people wanted to cut it short early, even though we had a 4-1 lead in the series at the time (this was before the '91 game), but too many LSU fans liked the rivalry and the perceived recruiting benefits in Texas were substantial enough to justify finishing out the 10 year contract.
I was kind of sorry to see it go, and I would have loved to see our '96 & '97 teams meet the Aggies (not to mention all our teams this century). But they don't consult me on these matters so I didn't get a vote.

LSU not only dropped their rivalry with A&M but also their rivalry with Tulane at the same time, due to the adjustment of the conference schedule to 8 games. They had a pretty long win streak against Tulane before dropping that guaranteed annual win, so I think that your theory might have a few holes in it.
