Two things can be true at once:

- It’s lame that people can just buy a bunch of premade ghost shots and that it isn’t a true shot contest.

- It’s also lame that Alabama doesn’t have someone that could at least stroke a check to get them to 1000.

Doesn't a large sum of the money they make off the shots go to local foodbanks? The "competition" isn't supposed to be serious. Rocco's wins because it's a great business model, and the towns of these teams win based on the charitable donation. This topic comes up every year about how "fair" the competition is. Who cares?

What clip did you watch? The competition wasn't even brought up. He had to practically beg them to take his money because they were so pretentious.

I watched it. Appeared as if they didn't know who McAfee was. I don't know of any bar that takes checks that he said he was offering to use unless they knew the dude was loaded.

They literally told him they'd taken checks for the big LSU purchases in the past. He specifically asked about it.

probably. If the guy told McAfee "your check will probably bounce," that's a pretty clear indication he didn't know who Pat McAfee is or know that's who he was talking to

Yeah, because the owner of Rocco's knew the LSU booster who wrote the check. He's a billionaire. If the guy didn't know who McAfee was, he's not just going to take a check from a total stranger to him. If I walked in there and said I'd like to write a $20,000 check for some shots, I'd expect the same response from the guy. This seems like a "do you have any idea who I am" deal. And it also sounds like, once they figured out who he was and that he was definitely good for it, they let him write a check.

That’s on them for not realizing that was their biggest customer of the week. They fumbled big time.

And if he'd stopped being a complete douche for two seconds, he wouldn't have had to insult the guy to get the information needed to have the transaction/donation happen cordially.

I can't believe this kind of service is being defended as if Pat is in the wrong here. Is Rocco's run by an LSU alum or something?

I cannot imagine giving a frick about Rocco or his pre made Jell-O shots.

Plenty of good spots in Omaha to laser focus on one establishment imo

No, but I'm willing to bet there is probably a little bit more context to the interaction told by McAFee in the 2 minutes in that clip. I'm not quire ready to say "yeah, frick those guys" like you are

This isn't anywhere near the first time Rocco's has treated people poorly. This is par for the course ever since their gimmick took off. There's a reason people say to avoid the place.

There is no context that makes telling a customer trying to make a donation to the charities you were so quick to point out earlier "Yours would probably bounce anyway." ok.

You say you need more context to hold Rocco's accountable for treating a customer like shite, but you're willing to assume this is about McAfee's ego based on literally nothing but your own assumptions. Just say you don't like McAfee.

you seem very invested and emotional about this. I have no feelings one way or the other about McAfee. I don't know the guy or how he acts towards other people when a camera isn't in is face. I'm not defending or chastising anyone involved in this situation. If you want to carry the water for McAfee, you do you man. I don't really care.
