It seems like Auburn and maybe LSU to a degree are the only schools that complain about their AD decisions? If I'm wrong please correct me

However, I've recently began to ponder if Jay Jacobs is actually Rain Man in disguise whose somehow managed to stumble and bumble his way into creating one of the strongest athletics departments in the SEC

Football - Gus Malzahn has an SECC under his belt and is heading into the 2015 season with a lot of momentum despite a disappointing 2014
Basketball - Bruce Pearl was Jay Jacobs boldest move and no one can argue that it hasn't paid huge dividends already. I mean, Pearl made Bama fire it's coach despite getting swept by them in the regular season
Baseball - Sonny Galloway was a big steal who hasn't exactly endeared himself to the fan base. That being said, Auburn's in the SEC Tourney and I can see them making it to Omaha in the next couple of years.
W. Basketball - Was disappointing this year after a good 2013. Jury's still out
Gymnastics - Still can't beat Bama but finished 6th nationally.
Softball - Heading to Super Regionals for 1st time in school history

I don't know how Swimming & Diving is doing but I would like to see us return to dominance in that sport and reclaim our spot at the top of Equestrian. Otherwise, I forsee Auburn becoming the dominant AD in the SEC over the next decade with Jay Jacobs at the helm. A guy who doesn't look like he actually knows how to tie his shoes correctly, whodathunkit???

Don't forget Gene Chizik. That hire brought Auburn its first national championship in 53 years.

Malzahn was a one hit wonder, Bruce Pearl hasn't done shite but sell tickets, and Sonny Galloway is an a-hole who hasn't done anything the previous guy couldn't do and is going to be fired by the end of next season. Looks like Jacobs sold Auburn fans fools gold and they bought it hook, line, and sinker

Bill Battle isn't too popular. He hasn't really made any major decisions outside of the basketball hire. He's made two hires total. All of the facility upgrades were underway when he took over as AD. He has a background in business, having built the collegiate licensing company CLC (which most athletic programs use today), but that doesn't seem to spur confidence in the fanbase.

If we're one of the strongest athletic departments in the SEC right now then that's pretty sad.

Football- Pretty solid. I believe Gus is the right coach but he's only been here 2 years. 1 year was way above expectations and the other was below expectations.

Basketball- We sucked. Maybe Pearl will bring us back but we don't know. Right now, we suck.

Baseball- We still suck in year 2 under Galloway. We aren't going to Omaha anytime soon.

W Bball- Our worst sport. We are beyond terrible.

Gymnastics- Did really well. Still got no championships though.

Softball- Nothing negative to say there.

You can't base our athletic department on what they could potentially do. We need results first.

I didn't include Bama because it's my understanding that Battle is just temporary and you guys have a couple of other hires to make i.e. President before you can replace him?

I admit to taking the Posibarner approach but I feel that out AD is much better than it was in 2012 when Chizik and Barbee were roaming the plains. We've made significant coaching upgrades across the board and I think we'll see dividends in the 2015-2016 cycle

Not a Baseball fan, but from what I read we showed improvement this season? Bradley being out will hurt us in the tourney but overall thought this season was much better than the previous years?

We were showing improvement then we tanked. Now we're back to where we were last year.

Swimming and Diving is still pretty good I think but no where near where they were.

Equestrian fell off a little bit too.

Pearl made Bama fire its coach

Wrong. Grant should've been fired in 2012/2013. This was years too late. Any dumbass could see the guy was a limp noodle with no clue how to fix the glaring problems. Bruce Pearl had nothing to do with it, especially since Grant swept his arse.

Fact is, Alabama doesn't care enough about basketball to make moves when they should be made. They do it when there is absolutely no other feasible solution.
