And he can't do a damn thing about the situation if said player wants to go start at some other school. It is what it is. That holds true for Nick Saban and Bama and the rest of the schools.

I want to know what you've seen from Simpson. Preferably in all caps and/or YouTube video format.

Simpson is a sharp, crisp passer. Perfect mechanics. You can tell he’s a smart guy. He’s been here 3 months and is leading the second offense down the field with ease. He was the only QB to not throw a pick. He has running ability like Bryce.

I’d actually say he made the best throw of the scrimmage. Every throw was on target.

Again, he’s been here 3 months.

Ty Simpson has all of the tools to be another QB in the same vein as Mac Jones or AJ McCarron. He’s got elite game manager written all over him. That’s who we typically win championships with at Alabama.

By next year he’ll be light years ahead of Jalen Milroe, and by the end of fall camp, I think he’d be our best backup option.

You took all of that and that he should start over Bryce Young from a spring game scrimmage running 10% of the offense in the rain against the #2 defense?

Cool

I don't really have strong feelings either way about Milroe or Simpson as the backup since I accept the fact that I've seen little to nothing of either of them in terms of actually running our offense. If either has to play in the fall we'd probably be in a bind. I'd probably rather have Simpson running a run first play action system than Milroe making bad decisions like he seems apt to do and turning it over a bunch. Especially with our defense next year.

Now do it against defenses that were worth a shite and watch Tua sink while QB's like Mac Jones and Joe Burrow rise.

2018, Tua QBR vs Top3 defenses

Miss St: 63.7
Georgia: 29.2
Clemson: 58.8

2019, Tua QBR

Tenn: 86.7
LSU: 72.8

In before injuries excuses even though his real problem was piss poor decision making. Same damn reason Miami is constantly looking for a replacement, even though Tua has the physical abilities.

Can’t believe this thread is five pages long.

Bryce Young, the reining Heisman winner, is the starting QB for Alabama.

Let’s enjoy it for a year, then revisit this topic.
