If you guys were a playoff team last year and returned the offensive player of the year at quarterback you would be singing a different tune. There is no shame on our end for losing to Clemson. They were better than us that night and this is a new year. We will start the year number 1, we are stacked and we still have a living legend on the sideline. Reminding us that we lost a game (happens to the best of us) is not gonna have the affect you are looking for.

The Rant terrified of "What" Jalen Hurts could develop into as a QB. tFear on here palpable, especially if dude improved slightly on deep/intermediate ball accuracy. It's been so long since we had a returning QB....SEC POY at that!!

This just let's me know that Tua isn't ready, Saban trying to give Hurts more confidence.

You don't have to advertise your stupidity. Of course a true freshman quarterback isn't ready in his first scrimmage of his first spring practice.

This feels like I'm on the tiger rant reading about Jordan Jefferson

Etling or the new guy is the one to lead LSIxU to the promised land. Or so I've heard.

It happens every year. And then your collective hearts are ripped out in November, if not earlier.

Yeah, pretty much sucks. It was a down year.

UGA would love to have such a down year.

We call it down year. You call it success.

Making excuses? It's April, April you fools. But normal and beautiful all at once.

Good athlete last year, just couldn't complete anything over 15 yards with any accuracy. Lane could help him, so maybe the new OC will have better luck.

Oh, he could, and did, but he was inconsistent. Good runner and inconsistent passer, which reminded me of Nick Marshall.

Nick was a runner and then became a passer. Most of Hurts yardage came when he was trying to pass and scrambled for big yards. When teams tried to contain him in the pocket, the Offense became average. AUs Offense never became average under Marshall.

uhh, Alabama led the conference last season in yards and points scored. That's kind of better than average.

As noted, Nick Marshall and Jalen Hurts were both good runners, and inconsistent passers. The obvious difference is that Hurts was a true freshman.

As for him running the ball, you may remember this game

LINK

edit: Well, and there was another difference in Marshall and Hurts. Marshall was never the SEC offensive player of the year.

I saw him run for 5 yards around end on you highlight. Hurts would get his yards on pass plays when the defense was spread over the field, nothing like Marshall.
