Hurts has a better arm, that's really not even up for debate, just watch film of him
There's no way in hell.

Nick Marshall had (has) a cannon for an arm. He could throw the ball 70 + yards.

BS again. No way Hurts has a better arm than Marshall. The Hail Mary against Georgia went as far as it did with only a flick of its wrist.
He is also not near as elusive as Marshall.

As noted, I'm a Bammer, but I've spoken already of Jalen's problems heretofore, and I have said I thought Marshall was a pretty good college QB, but Hurts is already a better qb than Marshall ever was. Even though I thought Kelly was the best qb in the conference last year, enough of the people that keep up with such things decided Hurts was the SEC offensive player of the year. Marshall never was so honored.

I should have clarified by better arm I meant more accurate and better overall touch. Marshall could wing it but had 0 touch. The Hail Mary is a perfect example of that. The ball literally was thrown directly to our safety. It hit our guy in the hands. It was an inaccurate deep pass and made a lucky bounce. Hence why the play is called a miracle.

Learn how to read. I never said he will be an NFL starter, I said he has more potential than Marshall and WILL be drafed as a QB. Marshall was drafted as a Cornerback. But you probably know more than the NFL scouts despite being illiterate.

Jalen Hurts will need to improve tremendously for any NFL team to even think about drafting him. Accuracy is one thing that is hard to teach.

A for sure 3 year, possibly 4 year starter with what I'm assuming will be a .900 winning percentage at the best college in the nation under a head coach who is renowned for his connections to the NFL and with an Offensive Coordinator with 16 years of NFL experience and 3 years as an NFL Offensive Coordinator? I will be SHOCKED if he isn't drafted as a Quarterback. Now will he start is another question but I would bet your serious money someone drafts him as a QB.

Jalen Hurts' stats are skewed due to play-calling by Lane Kiffin. He was a terrible passer down field. A large percentage of his passes were screens to receivers and easy passes < 10 yards.

Auburn's offense, especially in 2013 and 2014, was dramatically different from Alabama's in 2016. Gus Malzahn's passing offense in the past was all about stretching the ball downfield.

I agree with that. Hurts stats were definitely misleading but I still think if you watch tape of the two players Hurts shows far more potential.

Again, I thought Marshall was a great college QB but his deep ball passing was great due to the fact that Auburn ran for 300+ yards on nearly every one. When you have that much success running the safeties can't play deep centerfield and you have a deep ball 1 v 1 opportunity to exploit. You don't see that at all in the NFL because you can't run Malzahn's offense in the league, the defenses are too fast. Another reason why no one considered Marshall to play QB in the NFL, lack of touch and he played in a veer option system for 2 years.

If Jalen starts all three or four years, then Tua isn't as advertised. JS

So is that what you have to hang your hat on?

If Tua beats Hurts then Hurts was no good, and if Hurts starts 4 years then Tua was over rated.

Pick your poison.

That this belongs on the Bama board. I know that's all there is to do in Alabama and y'all are proud. Like the SEC's "slow" sibling.

No if Tua beats Hurts, then it will come to no surprise. Hurts is inaccurate and inconsistent. Tua supposedly has a better arm and is more polished while also being DT.

Hurts is 14-1, 14-1. What you got?

Barnett had a better arm and QB IQ and couldn't beat him. He's 2010 Cam only five years younger. Shhhhit.

With a vanilla playbook taylormade to fit his unique and rawtalents, a defense that was number one in the nation which increased his opportunities on the field (not to mention 11 straight games with defensive/ST scores,) and the best talent around him that money can buy. That's a pretty good recipe for a TF QB. Are you saying that Tua doesn't have the skills to eventually beat Hurts?
I was impressed with Hurts' maturity but his passing abilities were a liability to the team the last couple games obviously.
