Grade 1 AC joint shoulder injury that he suffered in the 2nd quarter vs UF. Out for Chattanooga and questionable for Ole Miss.
Fwiw, this is not the shoulder that he injured in high school.

Hate to hear that. The kid has been killing it and no offense to Lane but the dude aint even close to as good.

To be honest I wasn't all that impressed early on with Hurd...and I knew he was a true frosh and the Vol OL sucks big marbles....but he wasn't displaying strong leg drive against so so defenses to me. The game against UGA made me change my opinion...he started getting comfortable with protection calls and routes etc etc and you could see improvement.
Gator defense is tough...the Bama game was a total cluster caused by our inexperienced safetys, but we stopped Bamas run game stone cold until 4th qt when our turnstile offense kept 3 and outing us to death and defense finally gave up a little ground booty.
Hope Hurd recovers quickly...Vols are just an OL away from being in Hotlanta.

Kamara (next year) and Scott (now that he's healthy) will really help.

I say we hold him out till the South Carolina game.
