Personally IDGAF if his throwing motion “looks goofy” or unorthodox.

You should. At this level the game and its players move much faster. The difference between completed passes and incomplete passes or turnovers is fractions of a second in most cases. Time is lost when you have an elongated, goofy throwing motion that allows defenses that extra fraction of a second to react to. Defensive lineman love it because it’s easier to time their jump and get their hands up when the QB is physically winding up to throw.

Correct. You can't wait until the WR is open. You need to anticipate and hit tight windows.

Randall Cunningham had the same throwing motion and he played in the league for 16 years, three of them as an all pro. Its his head not his arm.

BB has the same throwing motion as Phil Niekro.

It’s not *the* thing holding him back but it is certainly a thing. As others have noted there have been tons of successful college QB’s with similar or otherwise unconventional mechanics, and even several in the pros. But obviously it takes away your margin for error if you have other weaknesses in your game which BB obviously does.

I think BB should be coached to look at one read on one side of the field, if that’s not there give him one quick check down option as a second read, and if that’s not there he should be coached to take off and use his speed.
