He grew up 30 miles from Columbia in Dalzell. Zion grew up about 80 miles away from Columbia in Marion County. We have never been able to keep SC kids in state for basketball.

Zion went to Spartanburg Day in Spartanburg. Went to school in Marion for a while when he was younger. He and Morant played on the same AAU team at one time.

Morant's recruiting was weird. He had two offers- USC and Murray State. The Racers offered first, and he committed and honored his word.

Sounds like he played one of his most well rounded, unselfish games of the year. Every time I’v seen him this year he was ball dominant and a high volume scorer. He would iso almost every possession and score a ton but they weren’t that efficient and played teams close. The Westbrook comparison was perfect. If Morant and his team keep playing like this watch out

I spoke with Frank over some drinks at the cockaboose this past season and lemme tell ya he was hype about this kid during his recruitment. Baffled me when he didn’t come to USC
