How did LSU fans really believe that the shrimp-boat captain all of a sudden just became a great head coach? Was it not obvious his assistants were responsible for this?

The 21-0 loss to Southern Miss definitely killed all hopes for me that Dubose was the guy.

After Alabama lost to Louisiana Tech in the third game of the season, the athletic director (Bob Bockrath) resigned and many people figured that DuBose would either follow suit or be fired by the man who replaced Bockrath (Mal Moore). The scuttlebutt was that had Alabama lost to Florida in the Swamp DuBose would have been fired the following day. Against all odds, DuBose beat Florida on the road and ended up going on a run that saw us win the SEC Championship and reach the Orange Bowl.

It was evident very quickly in 2000 that all pre-@ Florida win fears were correct and this entire thing was a dumpster fire.
It's so similar to the LSU situation it's crazy.

It's kind of funny because the same people that are complaining because players have quit are quitting themselves.
