Hahaha me too, really. Anyone who actually gets irritated at arbitrary rankings splitting hairs has their own issues.

Like I said, Fournette is great. He deserves to have a big last year and finish out near the top of the record books (as long as he has another 30 yarder against Alabama, of course).

18 attempts, 77 yards
6 attempts, 13 yards
12 attempts, 26 yards

That is one bum of a stat line, whoever it was

Mark Ingram - Pro Bowl, 2nd contract $4M/year
Pro Bowl alternate, and has only rushed for 1,000 yards once since high-school...his Heisman winning year.

Eddie Lacy - Pro Bowl, 2nd Team All-Pro, NFL Rookie of the Year, Top 100 players in 2014 and 2015 as voted on by NFL players.
Really good player that could be even better if he got his weight in control and stopped going feastmode. That could prevent him from being benched in favor of lesser players again.
quote:

Trent Richardson - Was at one point ranked in the Top 100 players in the NFL (2013), broke Jim Brown's rookie records at Cleveland before busting.
He was fricking terrible. No way around it.
quote:

TJ Yeldon - led Jaguars in rushing and TDs in his Rookie season
Not a huge accomplishment, but again, I think he can be good.
quote:

Glen Coffee - retired early to join the Army
No, he retired early to go into ministry, and was then arrested on gun charges. THEN he went into the Army.
quote:

Kenneth Darby - had a decent 4 year career as a backup
Decent? He had 408 total rushing yards during his 4 years. He didn't belong.

Arkansas gets extra points for D-Mac alone, because he was the best college football player I ever saw (along with Cam).

I remember when Arkansas came in in 2005 with him and Felix as freshmen and they ran wherever they wanted to go (on a defense filled with dudes STILL playing in the NFL). That guy was amazing.

Ya they were a awesome pair, I think overall what still shocks me the most is Felix's ypc

Average NFL back

Eddie Lacy

Has shown he can be upper level back, has his own issues that he has to fix to determine whether he will go the T-Rich route or go back to being a feature back

Trent Richardson

Biggest bust of the Saban era

TJ Yeldon

Had a great rookie year, I think may end up being the best all-around of all the backs

Glen Coffee

Incomplete grade

Kenneth Darby

Not an NFL back

I'd add LeRon McClain before Ken Darby. He had a great NFL career. And Jalston Fowler is going to have a long, long career in the NFL as an H-Back/Fullback.

Really was impressed with him this year. Did some work for me in fantasy football as well

I always thought his skill-set would make him more valuable in the NFL than he even was at Alabama. Good out of the backfield, never gets hit cleanly, blocks well, is versatile. I think that for some reason he always got shat on when he was at Alabama (by our people more so than the outside world).

Such a meh stat. It's like bragging about hitting .280. 1,000 yards means you averaged 77 yards per game over a 13 game season.

Well, not all seasons are 13 games. Just as Henry had 15 games this season to get his yards.

DMac's freshman year, Arkansas only played 11 games. So, he averaged more than 77 yards per game.

Yea, but he ended up with 1,797 yards and 22 TDs after just the 12 games, led alone the 13th in the SECCG (which most teams play a 13th game these days). He averaged 148 a game including the 15 games.

Felix Jones is the most underrated RB in college football history. He had to share the load with one of the greatest RB's in college football history. I remember thinking at times that he was actually a better RB than McFadden, and I'm not even including consideration for how awesome of a kick returner he was.

Yea, he did get shafted there. If he played on most other teams in other eras or even was a year behind D-Mac he would have a lot more recognition. He just happened to be in the exact same class as D-Mac.

10 years is a nice round number.

And it's also right around the time Arkansas decided to throw away all passing plays and run almost exclusively out of the wild cat.

Well, when you have McFadden, Jones, and Hillis in the backfield, isn't that what you should do? And this is SEC football, all the other big name RB schools have traditionally run the ball a ton.

What are you talking about? DMAC threw TDs as well

I think you're underestimating Dmac in the wildcat. Everyone keyed on Dmac, and still couldn't stop him. Jones was very good, but he was the beneficiary of everyone focusing on McFadden.

Jones was the perfect fit to run the Wildcat with McFadden too. He was through the line and into the secondary before anyone even realized he had the ball. At that point, it was game over as he had great speed.

There is no doubt that Felix greatly benefited from having Dmac in the backfield with him but he would of had a great career on his own as well.

I agree. He'd have more yards and TDs, but that insane YPC he has wouldn't be quite the same if he were on any other team though.
