2nd most SEC Championships: 14

2nd most Bowl Appearances: 62

2nd most Wins Alltime: 881

Tied for 2nd most National Championships: 4

2nd most Weeks as AP #1: 51

Obviously Alabama is 1st in all categories. Georgia has the past and present success to make their case.

I don’t count Texas and OU, simply because they didn’t accomplish their success in the SEC, they were Big8/SWC/Big12 programs.

Discuss. I think the debate is over

yes we've already known this. It is truly impossible to debate otherwise at this point.

Too bad for both Alabama and Georgia they only have 1 sport but the KING OF THE SEC- LSU leads the conference with 51 national championships

frick Tennessee and all that, but uga really has been the much better program in the y2ks. They finally got the 1980 monkey off their back, then repeated, and are strong contenders again next year. Imagine if they made Richt AD like Tennessee

Was this ever up for debate?

Not saying Georgia isn't great because they are, but this is a historical argument that doesn't get changed very often.

up until 3 years ago, absolutely.

Tennessee has been the #2 program for decades bhut it's been fading fast in the 21st century. LSU seemed to be battling neck and neck wiht them and UGA all lumped in togetther. But since 2021? Nah, there is no debate.

Based on the data provided, UGA has to be the #2 program in the conference.

I agree with you that within the big 6, Florida and AU are definitely at the bottom end of the totem pole. I think a hierarchy would go:

Bama

big gap

Georgia
Tennessee/LSU in some capacity
small gap

Florida/Auburn
